The ideal candidate combines deep frontend technical expertise with proven people leadership. This leader will play a critical role in defining the frontend engineering strategy that enables product teams to deliver exceptional digital experiences at scale.\nPartnerships and developing relationships will be key to their success. They will partner closely with UX Designers, UX Developers, architects, and application development teams to drive consistency, accessibility, developer productivity, and engineering excellence across the organization. A strong background in modern frontend development is required, and prior experience serving as a technical lead is highly preferred.\nAs a senior engineering leader, you are responsible for:\nLeading and developing people in ways aligned to their unique career goals and aspirations \nGuiding your team through complex technical trade-offs, design reviews, and platform evolution \nTechnical direction, code quality, and engineering best practices \nDelivering outcomes, product portfolio optimization, and integrated roadmaps tied to business objectives. \nStrong candidates will bring a dedication to technical learning, a passion for developing others, and crafting foundational technology solutions that accelerate innovation across the organization.\nResponsibilities\nLead a group of frontend engineers, UX developers and UX designers serving teams across Workplace Investing digital \nShape the modern frontend strategy of WI Digital, working closely with your team to identify areas of improvement, optimization and need \nAdvance and enhance our enterprise accessibility tool suite \nThe Expertise You Bring\n8+ years directly managing fast-paced technology with focus on Front-End Teams \nPrevious ownership of component libraries, monorepos, developer and accessibility tooling. \nDeep background in modern UI and experience architecture and enabling consistent, high-quality user experiences across applications \nStrong experience leading engineering talent, while setting clear technical direction and accountability \nExperience developing technical leads and technical leaders \nProven track record developing platform capabilities and supporting the teams that rely on them \nThe Skills You Require\nStrong hands-on understanding of Angular, TypeScript, and component-driven UI development, including modern build, testing, and performance optimization practices \nExperience owning large-scale monorepo environments, including governance, build and release strategies, dependency management, shared code platforms, and developer productivity tooling \nFirm understanding of accessibility including how to develop for and test accessibility through WCAG 2.2 \nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines supporting frontend assets, shared UI libraries and client-side builds \nExperience influencing engineering leaders and key business partners to champion platform modernization, frontend standards, accessibility initiatives, and developer productivity improvements across multiple teams. \nPractical experience with DevAssist tools including Github Copilot or Claude Code with deep familiarity with how to optimize engineering efforts with AI assistance. \nThe Team\nDigital Enablement Team designs, develops, implements, and supports Fidelity's Workplace Investing (WI) suite of digital products and services through tools and services.\nFidelity’s Onsite Working Model\nFidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues.
