The team’s focus is to support these business areas in achieving their objectives by identifying issues, recommending solutions, providing financial transparency and beneficial financial assessments.\nThis is achieved by building positive relationships with these internal client groups while meeting the needs and interests of all collaborators. This role specifically supports the Fidelity Canada Investment Management (FCIM) division.\nThe Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for timely, accurate financial reporting and forecasting for their business unit. This role is also responsible for providing Finance support on larger projects of strategic or business importance by providing consulting, planning, and end-to-end argument support. This role will also lead multiple operational improvement and automation initiatives across the team. The successful candidate will be required to build strong partnerships with business leaders and colleagues by providing appropriate financial stewardship, guidance, and strategic support.\nThis role will reside in the Finance department, specifically on Business Support team reporting to the Director of Finance Operations & Insights, while directly supporting projects and assignments relating to Business or Finance strategy or operations.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nLead Business Planning, Forecast & Reporting efforts across your responsible areas\nSuccessful identification and inclusion of relevant sales, assets, direct and indirect resources required for inclusion in long-term business plans.\nConsolidate and analyze data from a wide variety of sources, working with multiple collaborators within prescribed timelines to complete an accurate budget / forecast\nComplete monthly & quarterly forecasts based on historical trends, integrated with current sales volume projections while ensuring alignment from both Finance & Business executives.\nComplete key business performance reporting with accuracy & on time, delivering insights to help collaborators make business decisions.\nLead reporting enhancements & improvements in execution\nProven ability to automate and improve existing reporting & analysis via tools such as PowerBI.\nProven track record of identifying and implementing process optimization opportunities, bringing to bear automation, standardization, and new technologies to improve efficiency, scalability, and reporting quality.\nAbility to develop end-to-end financial models, conduct sensitivity analysis and develop compelling insights for executive-level audiences.\nLead analysis and presentation efforts that drive strategic decision making\nBuild and maintain detailed financial models\nHave or develop a thorough understanding of Fidelity’s products & cost structure to support business partners\nCommunicate with relevant collaborators (i.e., Fund Oversight Division, Legal, HR, Information Systems) on non-standard requests, ensuring any non-financial considerations are accurately reflected in the argument\nIdentify and coordinate areas of cross-functional Finance support for business projects (e.g. Accounting, Tax, Analytics, Reporting).\nDetermine key collaborators relating to monthly financial projections, ensuring relevant information is coordinated into cases and financial models.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nUniversity degree with a focus in Accounting, Business, Commerce, Economics, or related field; or equivalent work experience.\n2+ years’ experience working in Financial Analysis role within a Finance department.\nThe following are considered an asset:\nPrevious experience with PowerBI, KNIME, or similar tools.\nCompletion of a CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) or MBA.\n2+ years in Financial Analyst or equivalent role.\nFinancial Services industry experience.\nPrevious experience with month end accounting cycle.\nThe Expertise You Bring\nExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written.\nAbility to create complex financial models and sensitivity analysis.\nStrong financial and business insight, being able to translate financial concepts into business terminology.\nDemonstrated time management & project management fundamentals.\nAbility to thrive in fast-paced environment where business conditions and projects continually change.\nAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.\nStrong organization and time management skills.\nExperience working and collaborating with peers, managers, and leaders.\nAbility to work effectively across multiple departments and partners, and within Finance.\nTotal Rewards That Reflect Your Impact\nThis contract role offers a flexible, hourly compensation model that reflects your expertise and the value you bring.
