In this role, you will bring and apply an engineering mindset and a practical skill set to implement research, test code and deliver sophisticated mini projects that will help us gain an edge in an increasingly competitive DeFi marketplace.\nResearch and Analysis of Financial Data\nConduct in-depth research on financial data and emerging DeFi infrastructure to identify exploitable patterns, trends, and yield-generating opportunities.\nUtilize quantitative techniques, machine learning, and related data science methods to process large financial datasets.\nCollaborate with other quant researchers and DeFi analysts to turn research findings into actionable insights.\nModel Development and Maintenance\nDesign, implement, and maintain quantitative models for various use-cases.\nResearch, evaluate and explore risk management and optimization algorithms.\nDevelop software in Python (and other programming languages) that processes, analyzes, and predicts market behaviors.\nContinuously re-train and backtest models based on market performance and new data.\nCollaboration\nWork closely with other quantitative researchers, technologists, and other stakeholders to integrate DeFi strategies into our broader research framework.\nParticipate in regular meetings, code sharing, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment between research and our overall business objectives.\nThe Expertise and Skills You Bring\nTechnical and Analytical\nExisting knowledge of public Blockchains and DeFi protocols such as DEXs, lending, or derivatives platforms with a desire to become a subject matter expert\nStrong Python programming skills and experience with libraries like Pandas, Numpy, and Scikit-Learn\nWorking knowledge of the principles of machine learning, classification models, time series regression and stochastic calculus\nUnderstanding of relational database concepts and experience writing SQL queries\nWorking knowledge of Git\nCommunication and Collaboration\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nComfort working independently while collaborating across teams\nExperience and Background\n3-5 years of experience in digital assets, DeFi, fintech, crypto-native organizations or research firms or a related field\nBSc / MSc / PhD degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field\nNice to Have (Not Required)\nBackground or experience in algorithmic trading\nFamiliarity with programming in RUST\nThe Team\nOur team aids in building out Fidelity Digital Assets’ capabilities in decentralized finance (DeFi) and expanding technical blockchain and DeFi Ecosystem expertise. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.\nThe base salary range for this position is $97,000-185,000 USD per year.
