This role will be responsible for hands-on software development, technical leadership, and mentoring engineers while partnering with product and technology teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and innovative solutions. The position is based in Bangalore, India. \nThe Skills That Are Key to This Role\nStrong software engineering fundamentals with 8+ years of experience designing and developing Java/Spring Boot based full-stack applications. \nAt least 3 years of experience as a Lead Engineer, driving technical design, mentoring engineers, and delivering enterprise-scale applications hosted on AWS. \nExperience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar solutions to improve developer productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and accelerate delivery of complex solutions. \nStrong understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, clean code principles, test-driven development, and software engineering best practices. \nHands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native technologies, including EKS, ECS, S3, CloudWatch, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm. \nStrong experience with Java 17/21+, Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, REST APIs, Maven, Swagger/OpenAPI, Kafka/Artemis, and Reactive Programming. \nExperience with test automation frameworks such as JUnit 5, Mockito, WireMock, Cypress, Playwright, Cucumber, or equivalent technologies. \nMinimum 3 years of experience with SQL and PL/SQL development; Oracle database experience preferred. \nExperience building and deploying cloud-native applications following 12-Factor App principles and modern microservices architecture patterns. \nExperience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent DevOps tooling. \nExperience designing and troubleshooting distributed systems in production environments, with a strong focus on scalability, resiliency, observability, and operational excellence. \nExperience with Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, HTML5, and modern web application development is preferred. \nPassionate about learning new technologies and continuously improving engineering practices. \nAbility to work effectively within Agile teams as well as independently, with strong ownership and customer focus. \nExcellent analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. \nProven experience collaborating with globally distributed teams and managing challenging technical and business stakeholders. \nThe Value You Deliver \nPartner with Product Owners, Architects and Engineering Leads to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. \nDrive technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions for strategic platforms. \nBreak down large initiatives into executable work streams and lead delivery across multiple engineers. \nDevelop high-quality, maintainable and testable software while promoting engineering excellence across the team. \nConduct code reviews, design reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers. \nTroubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis and implement preventive improvements. \nChampion performance, scalability, resiliency and operational excellence across applications. \nCollaborate effectively with global teams and communicate technical solutions to both technical and business stakeholders. \nAct as a technical lead when required, helping coordinate deliveries and driving execution across the team. \nHow Your Work Impacts the Organization\nFidelity Fund Investment Operations (FFIO) provides accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products.
