Designs, develops, and implements Java Spring Boot and microservices frameworks. Builds and deploys Amazon Web Services (AWS) native services technologies, practices, and applications, using services -- Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), AWS Batch, StepFunction, Lambda Function, IAM, S3, AWS Bedrock, SNS, and Relational Database Service (RDS). Containerizes applications using Docker and Kubernetes. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nParticipates in architecture design teams.\n\nDefines and implements application-level architecture.\n\nDevelops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.\n\nEstablish GitHub branching strategies and SDLC/SCM best practices.\n\nRecommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.\n\nResponsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.\n\nDevelops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.\n\nEstablishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.\n\nResponsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.\n\nAdvises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.\n\nPlans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.\n\nActs as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.\n\nProvides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.\n\nAdvises senior management on technical strategy.\n\nMentors junior team members.\n\nPerforms independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.\n\nDevelops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.\n\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing, maintaining, and performing software application development in an enterprise development environment, using modern AWS cloud technologies and concepts.\nOr, alternatively, Master’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing, maintaining, and performing software application development in an enterprise development environment, using modern AWS cloud technologies and concepts.\nSkills and Knowledge:\nCandidate must also possess:\nDemonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and Java Web application development, using Java/J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Security, RESTful Web services, and cloud native deployments; and building and maintaining microservices oriented web applications in a business to business (B2B) environment across multiple systems and applications.\n\nDE gathering requirements and translating them into systems specifications and designs, using enterprise-wide web services, API solutions, microservices, and REST design principles; and performing configuration for enterprise class applications following business rules using Oracle configuration table/configuration server.\n\nDE provisioning Cloud infrastructure components -- AWS Batch, Elastic Container Service (ECS), EKS, RDS, and Elastic Load Balancer setup -- for data analysis, reporting, and consumption on Cloud, using AWS, AWS Lambda server-less computing, Cloud formation, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools (Jenkins and GitHub).\n\nDE performing Aerospike caching to improve real-time compliance and performance, using Oracle; and designing and developing real-time ingestion pipes into Oracle, StepFunction, and AWS Batch.\n\n#PE1M2\n#LI-DNI\nFidelity’s Onsite Working Model\nFidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles.
