WorkStation (PSW) technology organisation within Stock Plan Services (SPS).\nAs the Principal Engineer for a product delivery team, you will provide day-to-day technical leadership while partnering with engineering and product leadership to balance delivery commitments, technical investment, operational stability, and long-term maintainability.\nYou will work closely with Engineering Manager Product Management, System Analysis, Quality Engineering, Architecture, and Platform Engineering to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business priorities and enterprise standards.\nThe Expertise We're Looking For\nBachelor's degree or equivalent in a technology-related discipline.\n8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience building, delivering, and supporting enterprise applications.\nProven experience leading the delivery of complex software solutions in large-scale environments.\nExperience acting as a technical lead for teams delivering business-critical applications.\nDemonstrated ability to influence technical decisions and drive alignment across engineers, product, architecture, and business stakeholders.\nExperience balancing feature delivery, technical debt reduction, platform improvements, and operational priorities.\nExperience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted engineering tools is desirable.\nTechnical Expertise\nStrong understanding of modern application architecture patterns and cloud-native design principles.\nDeep hands-on expertise in Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, Signals, and enterprise level front-end architecture.\nExperience leading delivery in large Nx/monorepo environments.\nStrong experience with REST-based service integration and API-driven design.\nExperience with distributed systems, CI/CD, AWS, observability, testing, and secure software development.\nExperience establishing quality practices across unit, integration, visual, and end-to-end testing.\nTechnical Leadership\nProvide technical leadership and guidance to engineers across the delivery team.\nDrive engineering decisions aligned with architectural direction.\nPartner with Architects to evaluate solution options and contribute to long-term strategy.\nIdentify and proactively manage technical, delivery, and operational risks.\nSupport engineering and product leadership in technical trade-off decisions.\nEstablish engineering standards, development practices, and quality expectations.\nReduce duplication across applications and delivery teams through common patterns.\nDrive technical alignment across delivery teams, applications, and partner organisations.\nIdentify opportunities to simplify architecture, reduce technical debt, and modernise legacy implementations.\nProvide technical decision leadership while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.\nLead production issue resolution, root cause analysis, and prevention activities.\nEnsure solutions meet security, performance, accessibility, resilience, supportability, and observability standards.\nDelivery Partnership\nPartner with the Engineering Delivery Manager to assess technical feasibility and delivery risks.\nProvide early technical feasibility assessment during roadmap planning and initiative shaping.\nCollaborate with Product Managers, Product Analysts, and Systems Analysts on scope and requirements.\nProvide clear visibility of technical risks, assumptions, trade-offs, and business impacts.\nBuild credibility with business, product, and technology stakeholders by clearly articulating recommendations and options.\nMentoring & Engineering Excellence\nCoach and mentor engineers at all levels.\nSupport the development of future technical leaders.\nChampion continuous
