The selected candidate will provide technical leadership on a globally distributed team using a Mainframe technology stack. This role demands significant collaboration with members of various business and IT groups throughout the lifecycle of a typical problem or request.\nThe Expertise and Skills You Bring\nThe Expertise We’re Looking For\nBachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five or more (10 plus) years of experience in the job offered or five or more (10 plus) years of experience as a technical lead in mainframe brokerage or stock plan services systems and application development.\nOr, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (6) years of experience in the job offered or three (6) years of experience as a technical lead in mainframe brokerage and stock plan services systems and application development.\nThe Purpose of Your Role\nUse business and technical knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex stock plan services software applications on a mainframe platform running under a Z/OS environment.\nThe Skills You Bring\nYour Demonstrated Expertise ('DE') in defining, developing, and leading an interactive team to implement scalable application solutions\nYour DE in mainframe application development, automation, and support, utilizing COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, MQ-Series, and SQL\nYour DE in mainframe performance tuning and capacity planning, including ways to reduce I/Os, CPU Time, MSUs, and MIPs, using Strobe, iStrobe, and Platinum Detector\nYour DE in mainframe application development including: file format and comparison using File-AID; version management using Endeavor; debugging and unit testing using Intertest and Abend-AID; and job scheduling using Control-M\nThe Value You Deliver\nPerforming as a full stack engineer within an Agile team, including requirements gathering, development, and end-to-end testing\nDefining, developing, and leading interactive team to implement application level architecture, giving due consideration to application scalability and extensibility, and conformance to established standards\nProviding on-site and on-call support as needed and acting as a subject matter expert as part of a cross-functional crisis management team\nDeveloping applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division\nRecommending development testing tools and methodologies and reviewing and validating test plans\nResolving technical roadblocks involving multiple technologies and making recommendations and improvements to avoid them in the future\nCollaborating with multiple layers of management to share approaches, develop solutions, and improve capabilities throughout the organization\nLeading collaborative sessions and ceremonies with stakeholders and providing guidance and feedback to team members\nBeing responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables\nPlanning and conducting system testing\nDeveloping comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems\nEstablishing full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms\nBeing responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget\nAdvising on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects\nPlanning and coordinating project schedules and assignments for multiple projects\nActing as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues\nProviding technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives\nPerforming independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives\nDeveloping original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts\n The Team\nThis group develops applications and provides support on a mainframe environment, using COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, MQ-Series, SQL, and VSAM files. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.\nFidelity’s Onsite Working Model\nFidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues.
