Field Service is an industry leader in the\ndesign, installation, service and support of lighting and audio/visual systems across Canada with offices in Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver. \nField Service Canada prides itself on a collaborative team, and the ideal candidate would work well with others during service and system commissioning\nThe role involves a level of autonomy, with the candidate managing work loads within assigned deadlines, working with Project Managers to ensure all projects are delivered promptly and with high levels of integrity. \nWith our national presence, travel will be required. The role will be based in the Vancouver area\nThis role includes the following job responsibilities:\nWork alongside and under direction of a Senior Technician, Project Manager or Field Project Engineer.\nRead and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints\nPerform preventative maintenance visits to help maintain client systems\nTake responsibility to accurately complete job documentation as needed including organizing and maintaining\nField Service .CA files, drawings, reports and configurations in both paper and electronic format\nField installation of control programs (QSC, ETC Lighting, Crestron) - upload and download capability\nField service support of networked devices (Switches, Routers, WAPs)\nPerform service/install tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner including but not limited to pulling cable, low voltage terminations, installing connectors, mounting projectors, and hanging ceiling mounts\nProvide end-user client training\nAdhere to and understand WSIB/Worksafe standards for all phases of the job\nSetup and troubleshoot various systems as required\nRepresent both the Company and its clients, professionally and respectfully.\nLocal and out of town travel required (cost covered by FS)\nWorking at heights on aerial lifts and ladders\nManages own time to perform within defined schedule and Other duties assigned as needed\nRequirements\nAbility to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and colleagues\nAbility to read and interpret drawings, plans and project documents\nAbility to use hand and power tools in a safe and controlled manner\nAbility to work and think independently\nBasic Mac & PC knowledge\nKnowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control systems\nMinimum of High School Diploma\nTechnical Theatre or Electronics Technician formal education preferred\nBasic Troubleshooting logic \n3-4 years prior AV and or theatrical experience preferred\nAbility to clear all
