Many of the workflows that have defined the profession for decades are being rebuilt from the ground up.\nAt Fieldguide, we’re building the AI-native platform that powers modern audit and advisory firms. Our platform combines workflow, collaboration, and AI agents to help firms operate more efficiently while maintaining the rigor and quality the profession requires.\nAs an Audit Innovation Lead, you’ll join a small, specialized team working at the intersection of audit expertise, product development, and AI. While you won’t be performing audits for clients in this role, you will work closely with audit professionals and Fieldguide’s engineering team to design and build the next generation of audit workflows.\nThis role is ideal for someone who understands how audits work today-but is excited to rethink how they should work in an AI-driven future.\nWhat You’ll Do\nHelp design the AI-powered workflows that will define the future of audit and assurance.\n\nPartner closely with engineering, product, and design teams to translate real-world audit processes into scalable product capabilities.\n\nWork directly with audit firms using Fieldguide to understand their workflows, pain points, and opportunities for automation.\n\nIdentify edge cases, controls, and quality requirements to ensure the product meets the standards required for professional services workflows.\n\nCollaborate with our ML team to develop AI agent capabilities that assist with tasks such as document analysis, testing procedures, and evidence evaluation.\n\nHelp rethink long-standing audit processes and shape how AI can augment professional judgment.\n\nWho You Are\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting + CPA license or Master’s degree in Accounting.\n\n8-10+ years of experience in audit at a leading public accounting firm at the Senior Manager level or above.\n\nExperience auditing financial statements end-to-end, including designing and executing audit workpapers across financial statement areas.\n\nStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation.\n\nExperience performing financial statement audits end-to-end, including planning and risk assessment, evaluating internal controls (ICFR), executing substantive testing across key balance sheet and income statement areas, and reviewing financial statements and disclosures.\n\nExperience working across multiple clients and industries.\n\nExceptional attention to detail and a high bar for accuracy.\n\nStrong communication skills and the ability to translate complex accounting concepts into clear product requirements.\n\nStrong prioritization skills and the ability to focus on the highest-impact work.\n\nBonus Points\nCuriosity about AI and how it will reshape professional services.\n\nInterest in working closely with engineers to build new systems from the ground up.\n\nComfort operating in ambiguous environments and building without a predefined playbook.\n\nStrong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.\n\nA deep interest in improving how audits are performed-not just digitizing existing workflows.\n\nMore about Fieldguide\nFieldguide is a values-based company.
