Up to 10% travel.\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn the architecture and technical direction of our native iOS applications, with involvement in Android development.\n\nDesign, develop, and optimize mobile applications that connect with Bluetooth/BLE-enabled tools, sensors, and cloud services.\n\nWrite production-quality code and solve complex challenges involving connectivity, performance, reliability, and scalability.\n\nEstablish in-house mobile engineering capabilities, including development standards, architecture, testing, and best practices.\n\nCollaborate with external development partners, providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes.\n\nPartner with embedded, cloud, product, and UX teams to deliver seamless connected-product experiences.\n\nMake key technical decisions balancing performance, security, maintainability, and speed.\n\nLeverage modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development tools, to improve productivity, testing, and code quality.\n\nQualifications\n8+ years of software development experience, including extensive hands-on native iOS application development\nStrong expertise in Swift and native iOS development, with experience building and supporting complex, production-grade applications\nExperience architecting mobile applications and making significant technical design decisions\nExperience developing mobile applications that communicate with Bluetooth/BLE devices, sensors, IoT, or connected hardware\nStrong understanding of mobile architecture, APIs, cloud integration, performance, security, and testing\nExperience providing technical leadership, influencing engineering decisions, and collaborating across teams while remaining hands-on\nStrong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.\nEven Better If You Have\nNative Android development experience with Kotlin or Java\nExperience with AWS, cloud-connected applications, or distributed systems\nExperience with mobile CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and release management\nExperience using AI-assisted or agentic development tools\nExperience with professional tools, connected consumer products, industrial IoT, or field-service technology\nWhy You'll Enjoy Working at Fieldpiece\nOwn the technology.
