Whileoperatingwithin the Bank’s risk appetite,achievesresults by consistentlyidentifying, assessing,managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPartner with Relationship Managers oninitialtransaction assessment, financial analysis, and structuring, including preparation ofopportunitymemos.\n\nPerform detailed due diligence on companies, industries, managementteams,and other relevant internal and external information.\n\nAct as an expert in financial projection modeling, including development, review, and assessment of base case and downside case projections and underlying assumptions.\n\nManage the underwriting,approval,and documentation process for new money transactions.\n\nProvidea balanced credit view on borrower, industry, structural and execution risks within established credit policy and risk appetite.\n\nDemonstrate strong clientselection, credit agreement, and underwriting skills, including identification, evaluation and articulation of key risks and mitigants.\n\nEngage and coordinate with external legal counsel and internal partners to support documentation preparation,negotiationand execution.\n\nCoordinate closing, funding, and booking activities with the Funding Desk and Credit Collateral Operations.\n\nEnsuretimelyandaccuratecompletion of all internal and externalpost closingrequirements.\n\nIdentify, assess, manage, and escalate credit risksin accordance withBank policy,proceduresand regulatory expectations.\n\nEstablish strong working partnerships and effective routines with internal stakeholders to support efficient execution and consistent credit outcomes.\n\nProvide ongoing feedback, technical guidance, and coaching to junior team members.\n\nMay berequiredto develop industryexpertisein one or more sectors and understand, monitor, and articulate key industrytrends,risksand themes.\n\nSupport underwriting consistency, knowledge sharing, and best practice development within the underwriting function.\n\nPerform special projects and other assignments as requested.\n\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:\nMay include the direct or indirect supervision and direction of the day-to-day activities of Credit Solutions professionals. Responsible for providing employees withtimely, candid, and constructive performance feedback. Develop employees to their fullest potential andprovidechallenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth. Develop theappropriate talentpool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning. Recognize and reward employees for accomplishments.\nMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE,SKILLSAND ABILITIES REQUIRED:\nBachelor’s degree in Finance,Business Administration, or a related fieldrequired; CFA orMBAa plus.\n\n7+ years ofexperience in commercial underwriting.\n\nDeepexpertisein financial analysis, projection modeling, credit structuring, documentation, and due diligence execution.\n\nAdvancedproficiencyin Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and related applications.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate a credit view, key assumptions, and risk considerations.\n\nHighly organized,detail oriented, and capable of managing multiple transactions and timelines concurrently.\n\nUnderwriting PrincipalTotal Base Pay Range 96,500.00 - 207,500.00 USD AnnualAt Fifth Third, we understand the importance of recognizing our employees for the role they play in improving the lives of our customers, communities and each other.
