Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.\nWe are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to own softgoods and plastic parts.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign parts in 3D CAD that satisfy load conditions, industrial design form factor, and durability requirements.\n\nWork closely with industrial designer to execute on the vision and form of the system.\n\nOwn the industrial design robot buck, keep up to date with latest files from our engineers and communicate with suppliers.\n\nDesign injection molded plastic parts with Class A surfaces.\n\nGenerate accurate 2D drawings using GD&T per ASME Y14.5.\n\nInspect first articles, build test stands, and continuously support part on robot development platforms. \n\nRequirements: \n5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.\n\nExperience working with industrial design departments.\n\nBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Biomechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, or similar field.\n\nExpert in using 3D CAD software to design parts with complex geometry.\n\nExperience with high volume manufacturing processes specifically injection molding and die cutting.\n\nExperience designing and building prototypes.\n\nAbility to write and maintain clean documentation for design processes. \n\nBonus Qualifications: \nExperienced with simulation and analysis methodology (FEA, MATLAB etc.)\n\nExperience working with contract manufacturers.\n\nExperience with fabric manufacturing.\n\nCATIA V6 Experience.\n\nThe US base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $180,000 per year.\nThe pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role.
