Figure is based in San Jose, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.\nWe are seeking a Test Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated testing infrastructure for Figure’s CI, Hardware in the Loop (HIL) and system-level validation environments. This role sits at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and software ensuring every change in the stack is automatically verified against real hardware.\nYou will develop test frameworks, pipelines, and tooling that power regression testing and continuous integration for the humanoid robot. Your work will provide fast, reliable feedback to engineering teams, enabling consistent, data-driven validation across subsystems and full-robot tests.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign and implement automated test systems that validate functionality across embedded, electrical, and software interfaces.\nDevelop Python-based frameworks and CLI tools to execute tests, collect logs, and generate pass/fail reports.\nIntegrate test automation into continuous integration (CI/CD) workflows, enabling automated regression detection.\nBring up and validate new hardware and firmware builds, ensuring consistent system behavior across releases.\nCollaborate with Systems Integration, Firmware, and Software teams to define test coverage, interface contracts, and validation flows.\nDiagnose and debug test failures across the stack from hardware faults to software regressions.\nManage data logging, result visualization, and traceability across automated test runs.\nContribute to the design of scalable, reusable test frameworks and APIs for future platforms.\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.\n3-5 years of experience in test automation or embedded systems validation.\nStrong understanding of firmware-hardware interaction (I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, ADC, GPIO, Ethernet).\nProficiency in Python for test automation, scripting, and data processing.\nExperience with Linux-based development and command-line tools.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or TeamCity).\nBonus Qualifications:\nExperience with Pytest, Robot Framework, or custom automation frameworks.\nExposure to hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments or simulation systems.\nFamiliarity with board-level validation, power sequencing, and sensor testing.\nBackground in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or other complex mechatronic systems.\nProficiency with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DAQs).\nThe US base salary range for this full-time position is between $130,000 and $250,000 annually.\nThe pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
