Reporting to the Lead NPI Engineer, you will support the introduction of new RF and microwave products into manufacturing, helping ensure they can be produced efficiently, consistently and to the required quality standards.\nWorking closely with colleagues across Engineering, Production, Test and Quality, you'll be involved in taking products from prototype through to production, helping resolve technical challenges and improve manufacturing processes along the way.\nThis is a great opportunity to develop your experience in NPI while working with advanced RF technologies and a talented team of engineers.\nPlease note: The internal job title for this position is Manufacturing Engineer (NPI). NPI Engineer is the external job title we use to reflect the role within the wider engineering community.\nYou'll support the introduction of new products into manufacturing and help develop processes that are reliable, repeatable and suitable for production.\nWorking alongside the Lead NPI Engineer and wider engineering teams, your responsibilities will include:\nSupporting NPI activities from prototype build through to production release.\nDeveloping and improving manufacturing processes for new RF and microwave products.\nContributing to Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) activities.\nReviewing and analysing RF test data to help improve product performance and manufacturing yield.\nInvestigating manufacturing and RF performance issues and helping identify practical solutions.\nSupporting production ramp-up and continuous improvement activities.\nAssisting with the design and introduction of manufacturing tooling and fixtures.\nPreparing and maintaining manufacturing procedures, technical documentation and engineering reports.\nRequirements\nWe're looking for someone with an engineering background who enjoys solving technical problems and working closely with different engineering and manufacturing teams.\nYou'll ideally have:\nAn HNC, HND, degree or equivalent practical experience in Electronic Engineering, RF Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.\nExperience working with RF, microwave or electronic products, ideally within a manufacturing environment.\nSome experience of New Product Introduction (NPI), manufacturing process development or supporting the transfer of products into production.\nAn understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.\nGood analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical data.\nAn understanding of structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D, DMAIC or FMEA.\nGood communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different disciplines.\nExperience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), process capability analysis and RF test equipment such as Vector Network Analysers (VNAs), Spectrum Analysers and Signal Generators would be advantageous.\nThis is an opportunity to develop your engineering career within an ambitious and growing business working at the forefront of RF and microwave technology.\nYou'll be part of a collaborative NPI team, working alongside experienced engineers on technically interesting projects and products used in some of the world's most demanding communications, aerospace, defence and space applications.\nBenefits\nSalary benchmarked to attract the strongest candidates.\n37.5 hour working week\n25 days’ holiday plus public holidays, with the option to buy up to 5 additional days\nContributory pension scheme with up to 8% company contribution\nLife Assurance\nIncome Protection Insurance\nSave As You Earn (SAYE) share scheme \nElectric Vehicle (EV) scheme\nCycle to Work scheme \nVolunteering day \nLearning and development opportunities\nWant to Know More?\nThis advert provides an overview of the role and its key responsibilities.
