You will also help develop our supplier quality processes to support our ISO 9001 requirements and our longer-term ambition to operate at AS9100 level.\nThe role will involve travel to supplier locations across the UK and internationally, as required.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn and develop Filtronic’s supplier quality management processes, procedures and controls.\nDevelop, monitor and report supplier quality KPIs and performance measures.\nManage supplier quality assurance activities, from onboarding and qualification through to ongoing performance management.\nEstablish and communicate supplier quality requirements and expectations.\nPlan and conduct supplier quality audits, ensuring agreed actions are followed through to completion.\nMonitor supplier performance, identify trends and risks, and drive improvement opportunities.\nLead Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), ensuring robust root-cause analysis and effective corrective and preventive actions.\nWork collaboratively with suppliers to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.\nPartner with the Supply Chain team to support on-time-in-full delivery and right-first-time quality.\nIdentify supplier quality risks and work with relevant stakeholders to implement appropriate mitigation plans.\nMaintain accurate supplier quality records, documentation and performance information.\nEnsure supplier quality activities comply with ISO 9001 requirements and contribute to the development of AS9100-level practices.\nBuild strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders across Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering and Operations.\nDrive continuous improvement in supplier quality processes, standards and performance.\nTravel to supplier locations in the UK and internationally, where required.\nRequirements\nYou will be a proactive and analytical quality professional with experience in supplier quality management within a manufacturing or engineering environment.\nYou will be confident engaging with suppliers, challenging performance where necessary and working collaboratively to resolve problems and deliver sustainable improvements. You will have a structured approach to problem-solving, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities without losing sight of quality, delivery and customer requirements.\nYou will also be comfortable taking ownership of processes, working independently and influencing stakeholders to achieve the right outcomes.\nEssential Experience and Skills\nRelevant experience in a Supplier Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality or similar quality-focused role.\nExperience of supplier quality management within a manufacturing or engineering environment.\nExperience of supplier audits and supplier performance monitoring.\nExperience of managing supplier corrective actions, including SCARs.\nGood understanding of quality management systems and ISO 9001 requirements.\nExperience of root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive action.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to build effective working relationships with suppliers and internal teams.\nAbility to manage priorities effectively and work independently.\nWillingness and ability to travel to supplier locations in the UK and internationally, as required.\nDesirable Experience\nExperience within Aerospace, Defence, Space, Telecommunications or another regulated engineering environment.\nKnowledge of, or experience with, AS9100 requirements.\nExperience of developing or improving supplier quality processes and KPIs.\nExperience of working with complex engineering products and supply chains.\nA relevant quality qualification or professional accreditation.\nBenefits\nSalary benchmarked to attract the strongest candidates.\n37.5 hour working week\n25 days’ holiday plus public holidays, with the option to buy up to 5 additional days\nContributory pension scheme with up to 8% company contribution\nLife Assurance\nIncome Protection Insurance\nSave As You Earn (SAYE) share scheme \nElectric Vehicle (EV) scheme\nCycle to Work scheme \nVolunteering day \nLearning and development opportunities\nHybrid working available\nWant to Know More?\nRelocation assistance is available, if required.\nThis advert provides an overview of the role and its key responsibilities.
