Our platform helps businesses close more sales by offering customers affordable monthly payment options for their next big home improvement, vehicle or retail purchase.\nWe are small enough that you can make an impact within the company and large enough to make an impact in the market. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the data pipelines, models, and infrastructure that deliver reliable, high-quality data to teams across the organization. You will work closely with business stakeholders to ensure our data warehouse is accurate, well-documented, and scalable as the business grows.\nWhat you'll be doing:\nCollaborate with high-visibility teams and their stakeholders to support critical data engineering initiatives\nBuild and maintain dbt models across staging, mart, and metrics layers in the data warehouse, supporting analytics, reporting, and BI tools used across the business\nWork closely with cross-functional teams to define and enforce data quality standards, best practices, and data governance policies\nSupport data consumers by improving data discoverability, maintaining documentation, and helping teams understand how to find and use the data they need\nMonitor data pipeline health, investigate data quality issues, assess their impact, and validate fixes in collaboration with business stakeholders\nDevelop and maintain data and automation scripts to streamline data testing processes and improve efficiency\nParticipate in data migration projects, ensuring data quality and integrity during the migration process\nStay up to date with industry trends, advancements in data quality tools, and emerging technologies related to data engineering\nContribute to process improvements, documentation, and knowledge sharing within the data team\nHelp foster a team culture rooted in passion, curiosity, and continuous improvement\nBring energy, positivity, a critical eye, unimpeachable integrity, a team-first attitude, and a desire to contribute to building something great, together\nWho you are:\n You have a solid understanding of data modeling principles - you can design staging, fact, and dimension tables that are clean, consistent, and easy for downstream consumers to use\nStrong communication skills - you can explain technical data concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with business teams\nElite critical thinking and problem solving and impeccable judgment\nLegitimately curious and passionate about finding the “right answer” with a detail-oriented mindset and a “healthy sense of paranoia” about quality\nHighly organized, disciplined and driven, with the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines\nA bias toward documentation and data quality - you treat well-documented, tested models as a baseline expectation, not an afterthought\nThe ability to follow and manage best practices and standards for data quality, scalability, reliability, and reusability\nA good working knowledge of agile delivery techniques\nBalanced sense of pride & humility with the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and bring energy and enthusiasm to team culture\nRequirements\nUniversity degree in Engineering, Math, or Computer Science\n2+ years of full-time and/or internship/PEY experience as a Data Engineer or Data Analyst\nStrong hands-on SQL and ideally dbt experience - you are comfortable building and refactoring layered data models, writing macros, and working with incremental materializations\nPython proficiency for pipeline development, data transformation, and scripting automation tasks\nExperience with Apache Airflow - being comfortable building and debugging DAGs, managing task dependencies, and handling failures gracefully in a production environment would be highly valued\nFamiliarity with AWS services, particularly Redshift and Glue, and comfort working in a cloud data warehouse environment would be highly valued\nExperience working in indirect (B2B2C) and/or consumer lending would be a strong asset\nCapable of having fun while doing all of the above; we’re serious about this\nBenefits\nWinner of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures, twice. We offer more than just the basics, take advantage of:\nAn award-winning culture with a collaborative & inclusive team.\nCompetitive pay and performance-based bonus:\nAnnual Base Salary: $75,000 - $105,000\nAnnual Bonus: 20%\nCommitted to flexible work arrangements, offering hybrid workplace options.\nComprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage + Lifestyle Account.\nRRSP Matching and Parental Leave Top UP Program.\nIn office massage, meditation & workout sessions.\nVirtual events such as Lunch & Learns, company parties, fun team activities and charity initiatives.\nCareer learning and development programs.\nNext Steps:\nIf what you just read excites you, we’d like to hear from you!
