Direct Mail Machine Operator - Entry Level

FSSI is looking for a full-time Direct Mail Machine Operator to join our team in Santa Ana, CA. This role is responsible for performing accurate setup and operation of print finishing equipment/machinery in the department.

Full-time Schedule: Monday - Friday, 07:00 am - 3:30 pm

Overtime is scheduled as needed, and could require coming in earlier, staying later, and working weekend shifts during high-volume production cycles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Learn the various aspects of the print finishing processes and equipment with the purpose of improving operation skillsets, competency, and knowledge of the machines and work produced in the Direct Mail (DM) department.
• Operates or tends machines that perform print finishing operations, such as, inserting, folding, cutting, tabbing, UV coating, Inkjet, GMS cold glue folder, IBIS booklet maker and GEP finishing equipment in a demanding high-speed environment.
• Accurately set-up equipment for optimal production throughput.
• Consistently perform duties in a safe manner, following company safety rules.
• Follow all established quality control procedures to consistently produce accurate and quality work.
• Additional work, as assigned.
• In addition to your regular schedule, additional hours (overtime) will be required on an as needed basis to support business operations. This may include working a longer daily schedule or working on weekends. By accepting this position, it is with the understanding that you will be available to work on the weekends, unless there is a medically documented restriction in accordance with federal, state or local law.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a Machine Operator in a fast-paced manufacturing environment highly preferred.
• Effectively read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Effectively write routine reports and correspondence.
• Effective written and oral communication in English. Must demonstrate effective interpersonal, organizational, multi-tasking, time-management and prioritization skills, and basic PC literacy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and/or fingers to grasp, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is standing continuously up to 10 hours a day. There is continuous movement of the upper body. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds independently. Specific vision required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustments.

Hiring Rate: $18.00 per hour
