Senior Business/Data Analyst - Banking Data & DWH

We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our team and take an active role in Data Warehouse, Data & Analytics, and Regulatory/Business Reporting initiatives within the banking sector.

The role combines business analysis, data analysis, and project delivery, acting as the key link between Business Units and technical teams. The ideal candidate should be able to understand business needs, translate them into clear functional and data requirements, and take ownership across the delivery lifecycle from requirements and gap analysis through implementation, UAT, and production delivery.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, challenge, and clarify business and reporting requirements with relevant Business stakeholders.
• Perform Gap Analysis between business requirements and available DWH/source-system data.
• Translate requirements into detailed Functional Specifications (FSDs), including data mappings, transformation/business rules, filters, calculations, and reporting logic.
• Perform hands-on data analysis using SQL to assess data availability, quality, consistency, and identify discrepancies.
• Collaborate with DWH Developers, Data Engineers, BI/Reporting teams, and other technical stakeholders throughout implementation.
• Design and execute UAT, including test scenarios, data validation, reconciliation, defect management, and re-testing.
• Take end-to-end ownership of projects/workstreams, proactively managing stakeholders, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and blockers.
• Review deliverables and provide guidance and coaching to junior analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, or a similar role, ideally within the Banking / Financial Services sector.
• Proven ability to independently lead a project or workstream end-to-end, taking ownership beyond the execution of assigned tasks.
• Strong experience in leading business workshops, gathering, challenging, and refining requirements, and translating complex business needs into clear, high-quality functional and data specifications.
• Strong SQL skills, with the ability to independently query, analyze, reconcile, and investigate large datasets.
• Good understanding of data mapping, transformation rules, data quality, lineage, and source-to-target reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience in coordinating UAT activities, including test scenario preparation, data validation, defect analysis and resolution, through to business sign-off.
• Ability to effectively coordinate with business and technical teams and act as a reliable point of contact for client and project stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
• Ability to review the work of other analysts, provide guidance, and mentor junior team members.
• Experience in Data Warehouse, Data & Analytics, BI, Reporting, or data migration projects will be considered a strong asset.
• Experience in Regulatory Reporting and banking data domains, such as Customers, Loans, Deposits, Collaterals, and Transactions, will be considered an advantage.
• Familiarity with Power BI or other BI/reporting platforms, as well as Azure DevOps or similar requirements, testing, and defect management tools, is desirable.
