Upon completion, this role is expected to transition to the standalone Universal Banking business, creating opportunities to support its future growth and success.\nWe are seeking an experienced Expert Database Administrator (TP4) to join our Shared Services Database Engineering team. This is a senior individual contributor role responsible for providing technical leadership across enterprise database platforms supporting product engineering, SaaS operations, customer implementations, cloud transformation initiatives, and large-scale modernization programs.\nThe successful candidate will possess deep expertise in Oracle Database technologies and strong PostgreSQL administration skills, with the ability to design, optimize, automate, and support highly available database environments. The role requires hands-on experience in database architecture, performance engineering, troubleshooting complex production issues, and guiding database modernization initiatives including cloud adoption and platform migrations.\nThis position will work closely with Engineering, Architecture, Product Development, Cloud Operations, Performance Engineering, Customer Support, and Implementation teams to ensure database platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.\nKey Responsibilities\nDatabase Platform Leadership\nServe as a technical subject matter expert for Oracle and PostgreSQL database platforms.\nDefine and maintain database standards, architecture principles, operational procedures, and best practices.\nProvide technical leadership for complex database initiatives across engineering and customer environments.\nDrive database reliability, scalability, security, and performance improvements.\nDatabase Architecture & Data Modelling\nReview and guide database architecture and schema designs.\nProvide recommendations on logical and physical data modeling strategies.\nEvaluate database design decisions for scalability, maintainability, and performance.\nCollaborate with product and architecture teams to establish database standards and governance.\nPerformance Engineering & Optimization\nLead root cause analysis for complex database performance issues.\nAnalyze execution plans, locking, contention, indexing strategies, and workload patterns.\nOptimize SQL workloads and database configurations.\nEstablish proactive performance monitoring and capacity planning practices.\nCloud & Database Modernization\nSupport enterprise cloud transformation initiatives.\nDesign and support database workloads on Microsoft Azure.\nLead Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration assessments and execution activities.\nEvaluate emerging database technologies and cloud-native database solutions.\nAutomation & Platform Engineering\nDevelop and maintain automation frameworks using Shell and Batch scripting.\nDrive automation of deployments, database health checks, patching, monitoring, backup validation, and operational tasks.\nSupport DevOps and CI/CD initiatives related to database lifecycle management.\nImprove DBA operational efficiency through automation and tooling.\nTechnical Mentorship\nMentor database administrators and engineers.\nConduct technical reviews and knowledge-sharing activities.\nSupport skill development initiatives across engineering teams.\nContribute to database strategy and long-term roadmap planning.\nMandatory Qualifications\nExperience\n8+ years of hands-on database administration experience.\nMinimum 5+ years of strong Oracle Database Administration experience and 3+ years of strong PostgreSQL Database Administration experience.\nDemonstrable experience managing large-scale mission-critical database environments.\nExperience supporting production, SaaS, or enterprise application platforms.\nCore Technical Skills\nExpert-level Oracle Database Administration.\nStrong PostgreSQL Administration experience.\nStrong SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.\nStrong Shell Scripting and Batch Scripting experience.\nAdvanced understanding of: Database architecture Database internals Data modelling Database design principles Query optimization Backup and recovery High Availability and Disaster Recovery Database security and governance\nDatabase Technologies\nOracle RAC\nOracle Data Guard\nRMAN Backup & Recovery\nOracle Performance Diagnostics\nPostgreSQL Replication\nPostgreSQL Backup & Recovery\nPostgreSQL Performance Tuning\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform.\nExperience with Azure Database for PostgreSQL.\nKnowledge of Kafka administration, architecture, and integration patterns.\nExperience working with containerized applications and Kubernetes clusters.\nKnowledge of Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices.\nExperience with database modernization and migration programs.\nExperience supporting banking, financial services, or other mission-critical enterprise applications.\nOracle and/or PostgreSQL certifications preferred.\nEducation\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.\nRelevant Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cloud, or Kubernetes certifications are advantageous.\nWe are proud to offer a range of incentives to our employees worldwide.
