Working closely with the Product Development team, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Management teams, this individual helps ensure product quality, performance, and manufacturability while meeting project schedules and cost objectives.\nKey Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)\nCreate, revise, and maintain technical drawings, 3D models, and engineering documentation using CAD software such as SolidWorks, while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.\nCollaborate with production teams to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues that may impact product quality, productivity, or manufacturing schedules.\nCreate, maintain, and update product Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring the accuracy and integrity of components, subassemblies, and assemblies.\nAssemble, test, and validate prototypes and samples to support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.\nDesign, build, and implement jigs, tools, and production fixtures to improve assembly, machining, welding, and overall manufacturing efficiency.\nParticipate in investigations and problem-solving activities related to manufacturing, quality, and supplier issues.\nManage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) by incorporating required modifications into BOMs, drawings, and technical documentation.\nContribute to continuous improvement, standardization, and cost-reduction initiatives.\nPerform other related duties as required to support departmental operations.\nSkills and Minimum Experience Required\nQualifications\n· Education: College diploma (DEC) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.\n· Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.\nSkills\nProficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software; SolidWorks experience is considered an asset.\nKnowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) management software and ERP systems (such as Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, etc.).\nFamiliarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and document management processes.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus while performing technical tasks.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.\nBilingual in French and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages\nAssets\nExperience with Oracle.\nKnowledge of CSA, UL, and other product certification standards and requirements.\nExperience in the lighting industry.\nExperience with SolidWorks.\nWe value diversity and are an equal opportunity employer.
