Acuity Inc is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with a focus on firewall administration and a security mindset to join our Infrastructure Engineering team. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to design, secure, deploy, scale, and maintain highly available network infrastructure both on site as well as in the cloud with Azure.\nOur team's focus is on quantifying and improving the availability, reliability, security, and performance of our products and services. Remote work is the norm for our highly distributed teams.\nKey Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)\nAs a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and security of our IT infrastructure and cloud applications. Your responsibilities will include:\nBuilding site-to-site VPN tunnels \nMaintaining a secure limited access firewall rule base \nBuilding network configurations and connections across LAN and WAN. \nTroubleshooting network problems. \nIP address allocation and maintenance to avoid overlaps. \nMaintaining firmware on switches, APs, load balancers and other devices. \nNetwork segmentation. \nVoice and Call Center system configuration. \nLeading incident resolution efforts and postmortems. \nDesigning and implementing monitoring and automation tools. \nA system operations mindset focused on maintaining uptime and addressing disruptions. \nStrong collaboration skills to work with other engineering teams. \nFamiliarity with monitoring systems such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Azure. \nExperience with web networking, TLS, SSL certificate management, reverse proxies, and load balancing. \nExcellent written communication skills. \nA passion for solving complex problems and continuous improvement. \nSome travel may be required \nSkills and Minimum Experience Required\n7+ years of experience in a similar role.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nIn depth experience with firewall administration, VPN tunnels, and multi-ISP routing \nNetwork access control (NAC) systems \nNetwork switch and AP hardware configuration and installation \nNetwork design, implementation and troubleshooting. \nNetwork segmentation that includes security limits with ACLs, NACs, and firewalls. \nWireless network security with 802.1x and certificate authentication. \nWAF experience with DDoS and Bot protections \nIncident response and/or incident management experience. \nExperience with highly available distributed systems. \nExperience with OT (Operational Technology) network segmentation is a plus \nExperience defining SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs. \nExperience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform. \nThe range for this position is $83,300.00 to $164,400.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
