Visit us at www.acuityinc.com.\nJob Summary\nWe are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Digital Centre of Excellence (DCoE) in Cork. In this role, you will help shape the quality strategy for cloud-native digital commerce and AI-enabled platforms that support Acuity’s evolving technology ecosystem.\nThis is a hands-on engineering role focused on automation, continuous testing, and quality enablement. You will influence engineering practices, improve delivery pipelines, and help teams build quality into every stage of the software development lifecycle.\nKey Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)\nDesign, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for APIs, backend services, and cloud-native applications.\nCollaborate with software engineers to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.\nDefine and drive quality engineering practices across multiple product teams.\nDevelop automated functional, integration, regression, performance, and end-to-end test suites.\nPartner with engineering teams to identify quality risks and establish appropriate test strategies.\nEnsure quality gates are embedded within development workflows and release processes.\nSupport root cause analysis and troubleshooting across distributed systems.\nChampion shift-left testing practices and foster a culture of quality engineering.\nEvaluate and introduce new testing tools, frameworks, and approaches where they provide measurable value.\nSkills and Minimum Experience Required\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.\nStrong software engineering background with experience developing automated test solutions.\nProficiency in Python or another modern programming language.\nExperience testing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.\nExperience with PyTest, Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent frameworks.\nHands-on experience with Azure DevOps.\nExperience working with cloud platforms, preferably Azure.\nExperience with Docker and CI/CD practices.\nStrong understanding of software testing methodologies and quality engineering principles.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\nExperience with Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures.\nExperience with performance, load, and resilience testing.\nKnowledge of security testing and secure development practices.\nExperience testing AI-enabled applications and services.\nExperience building test automation frameworks from the ground up.\nTechnologies:\nPython, PyTest, Playwright, REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, Git, Jira, Confluence.\nWe value diversity and are an equal opportunity employer.
