Powered by our proprietary technology that enables people to find the resources available in their area, we have helped millions of Seekers find food, health, housing and employment programs.\nJob Overview: The Accounting Manager oversees day-to-day accounting operations, ensures GAAP compliance, and manages the month-end close process in collaboration with an external accounting firm. This role owns the end-to-end billing and collections cycle, drives process automation within our subscription management platform, and serves as a cross-functional partner to ensure financial accuracy across all customer segments.\nResponsibilities and Duties:\nAccounting & Month-End Close\nCollaborate with the external accounting firm to manage the month-end close process and daily accounting operations.\nAssist with month-end departmental finance reviews to ensure reporting accuracy.\nMaintain and update the company’s revenue recognition file.\nManage state and local tax agency relationships, overseeing quarterly and annual payroll and excise tax filings.\n\nInvoicing & Billing Management\nManage daily billing and invoicing operations for self-serve digital checkouts, mid-market subscriptions, and complex enterprise contracts.\nServe as the Subject Matter Expert for the invoicing and revenue recognition platform (Maxio), developing and maintaining automated accounting procedures and reporting.\nIdentify billing workflows bottlenecks and implement automation to reduce manual data entry, minimize errors, and shorten the invoicing cycle.\nReconcile CRM data (HubSpot) against actual financial records, verifying contract details and subscription terms.\n\nCollections, Disputes, & Risk Management\nDesign and monitor automated workflows to optimize cash flow and reduce Days Sales Outstanding while maintaining a positive customer experience.\nEstablish SLAs and structured workflows for billing inquiries, serving as the escalation point for complex customer disputes.\n\nLeadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration\nAct as a Subject Matter Expert to the Revenue Accountant and Accounting Associate.\nCollaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, and Account Directors to ensure complex contract terms, custom pricing, add-ons, and renewals are accurately translated into the billing system.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree required, Finance or Accounting concentration preferred\n7 + years experience in the accounting function\nStrong GAAP knowledge\nAdvanced Excel skills with working knowledge of G Suite\nProven ability to build and maintain strong, cross-functional working relationships\nSubscription Billing Expertise: Proven experience managing invoicing within automated subscription management platforms (e.g., Maxio/Chargify, Zuora, Stripe Billing, NetSuite SuiteBilling, or Chargebee).\nStrong understanding of sales tax nexus for SaaS; experience integrating tax automation software (e.g., Avalara or Vertex) with the billing system.\nData Literacy: Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets to reconcile billings against actual revenue recognized and deferred revenue schedules.\nWe value being together: We believe being together enables stronger relationships, collaboration, and culture.\nThis position is in office and candidates must be located in Austin, Texas.\nPerks at Findhelp\n401k & equity grants\nFully stocked kitchens across all three office locations\nOnsite gym at our Austin HQ \nPaid parental leave\nCompetitive PTO & 10 paid holidays\nComprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance with 100% company-paid coverage for employee only coverage\nDog-friendly office in Austin HQ\n24/7 access to telemedicine and counseling\nBook Purchasing Program\nWe’re building a diverse, inclusive team\nYou’re welcome here.
