You’ll work at the intersection of business needs, technical design, and delivery execution-translating complex payment, integration, and compliance requirements into clear, actionable user stories. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in API centric environments and understands the nuances of secure, high volume payment processing.\nRequirements\n- Requirements & Analysis Elicit, analyse, and document business and technical requirements for: Payment flows (authorisation, capture, settlement, refunds, reconciliation) RESTful APIs and integration points Backend services and data processing Merchant onboarding, MIDs, and acquirer integrations Translate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data mappings. Work closely with architects and developers to ensure requirements are technically feasible and aligned with the solution design.\n- Scrum Team Collaboration Partner with the Product Owner to refine and prioritise the product backlog. Participate fully in Scrum ceremonies: stand ups, sprint planning, refinement, reviews, retrospectives. Provide ongoing clarification to developers and testers throughout the sprint. Contribute to the team’s Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.\n- Documentation & Modelling Produce and maintain: API specifications and interface definitions Business process models (BPMN or similar) Sequence diagrams and integration contracts Data mapping and transformation documentation Support QA in defining test scenarios and validating requirements. - Stakeholder Engagement Facilitate workshops, interviews, and technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders. Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, business friendly way. Manage expectations around scope, dependencies, and timelines. Collaborate with acquirers, processors, fraud providers, and compliance teams.\n- Compliance & Risk Ensure requirements align with: PCI DSS standards Secure data handling practices Regulatory and audit requirements Support risk identification and mitigation activities. - Required Skills & Experience - Core BA Skills Proven experience as a Business Analyst on payment, fintech, or API driven integration projects. Strong ability to break down complex requirements into structured user stories. Skilled in process modelling, requirements documentation, and data analysis. Experience working within Scrum or other agile frameworks. - Technical Competencies Solid understanding of: REST APIs, JSON, XML Event driven and message based integrations Payment gateway architecture and transaction flows Merchant accounts, MIDs, acquirer relationships Ability to interpret API documentation and collaborate effectively with technical teams. Familiarity with tools such as: Azure DevOps (for backlog and requirements management) Postman or similar API tools Domain Knowledge Experience in payments, e commerce, or financial services. Understanding of card schemes, acquirers, and settlement processes. Knowledge of fraud, chargebacks, and reconciliation workflows. - Soft Skills Excellent communication and facilitation abilities. Strong analytical thinking and problem solving mindset. Comfortable working in fast paced, iterative delivery environments. Ability to influence and build strong relationships across teams. Desirable Experience Exposure to microservices architectures. Experience with contract testing approaches. Knowledge of ISO 8583, Open Banking, or other payment protocols.
