The role demands strong software engineering discipline - not just building automation, but proving it works through automated tests written in languages or tools such as Ansible, Python, TypeScript, Bash and Jenkins pipelines. Experience applying test strategies within an Agile SDLC is essential. Key success criteria will be delivering repeatable, automated, and verifiable infrastructure aligned to company standards and security requirements, providing world-class service to FINEOS Cloud hosted clients and internal teams.\nResponsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)\nDevelop and maintain infrastructure automation using TypeScript, Python, and Bash across the CI/CD toolchain (Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform, Jenkins).\nWrite automated tests to validate infrastructure changes, integrating test coverage into CI/CD pipelines.\nDefine and execute test strategies aligned with Agile development practices, ensuring high-quality infrastructure code delivery.\nIntegrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines and ensure test coverage across infrastructure components.\nParticipate in the road mapping and planning of automation solutions.\nProvide technical skillsets for DevOps related projects and be involved in technical planning and / or execution activities.\nDesign and engineer reusable solutions for rote tasks.\nAnticipate, identify, mitigate, and resolve issues relating to client facing infrastructure.\nMonitor, analyze, and predict trends for system performance, capacity, efficiency, and reliability and recommend enhancements to better meet client SLAs and standards.\nPractice configuration management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation per FINEOS policies and procedures.\nPerform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of the systems and applications, including review system and application logs and verifying the completion of schedule jobs.\nRemain informed on regional laws, trends and issues, including current and emerging technologies and best practices, ensuring this knowledge is communicated and shared with the team and managers as appropriate.\nMentor junior members of the team to contribute to solutions and produce high quality code.\nEducation and/or Experience\nMinimum of 5+ years post qualification experience in a software engineering role with exposure to the full SDLC, preferably on enterprise scale systems.\nStrong experience in test automation for infrastructure code and scripting languages\nA relevant third level qualification or equivalent commercial experience.\nInfrastructure-as-code experience (CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible).\nAWS automation experience (code commit, code pipeline, Lambda, API Gateway, VPC Networking, EC2, ELB)\nStrong background in Continuous Integration, and build automation tools such as but not limited to Ansible, Gradle, Jenkins, Subversion, GIT, Ant, Ivy, and Cloud Formation as well as virtualization and containerization technologies (Docker)\nExposure to deploying applications on Java EE applications servers (JBoss, Websphere, Weblogic or Tomcat)\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nExcellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills\nProven excellent technical problem-solving capabilities.\nCommitted to creating readable, reliable, and maintainable code.\nProficiency in using AI tools to enhance work processes and support informed decision-making is essential, with strict adherence to the organisation’s security, data protection, and ethical use policies.\nFamiliarity with test management platforms such as X-Ray, Zephyr, or TestRail a bonus.\nTechnical Skills\nMulti-platform skills (Linux/Unix/Windows)\nConfiguration Management experience (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)\nFamiliarity & Understanding of Networking concepts like Routing, SNMP, Web Application Firewalls, Load Balancing, and VPN\nOperations role experience (Sys Admin, Sys Engineer, IT Support)\nAWS Certified DevOps Engineer OR Solution Architect OR SysOps Administrator desired but not required.\nProficiency in using AI tools to enhance work processes and support informed decision-making is essential, with strict adherence to the organisation’s security, data protection, and ethical use policies.\nLanguage Skills\nAbility to speak the English language proficiently, both verbally and in writing.\nTravel Requirements\nTravel and fieldwork, including international travel may be required.
