Today, its solutions span Vision AI, intelligent self-service kiosks and digital menus, combining software and field-deployed technology to help some of the world’s leading QSR brands improve operational performance and customer experience.\nWe’re now looking for an experienced Chief Technology Officer to lead Fingermark’s technology and engineering direction as the business continues to grow.\nAbout the role\nReporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the executive team, this is Fingermark’s most senior technology leadership role. Working across the business, you’ll help shape technology direction, lead the engineering function and partner closely with Product to make sure customer and commercial priorities translate into technology that is scalable, reliable and practical.\nAt executive level, you’ll bring a clear technology perspective, challenge thinking when needed and help the business make good decisions about where to invest, what to prioritise and how technology supports growth.\nThere is already a capable engineering team and experienced leaders in place. Your job won’t be to have every answer yourself. It will be to create the clarity, capability and leadership that allows good people to make sound decisions, solve problems and deliver technology customers can rely on.\nYou’ll be responsible for:\nSetting Fingermark’s technology and engineering direction alongside the CEO and executive team\nRepresenting technology and engineering at executive level\nLeading, coaching and developing Fingermark’s engineering leaders and teams\nWorking closely with Product to align customer needs, commercial priorities and technology investment\nLeading the development and delivery of technology across software, platforms, infrastructure and deployed technology\nLooking across Engineering for opportunities to improve capability, efficiency, delivery and ways of working\nEnsuring Fingermark’s technology is scalable, reliable, secure and able to support customers as the business grows\nProviding oversight across quality, cybersecurity, data protection, technology risk and incident management\nProviding clear technical and commercial advice to internal stakeholders and customers\nAbout you\nThis role calls for an established senior technology or engineering leader who has already operated at executive level and led experienced engineering leaders and teams. You’ll have already held significant responsibility for an engineering or technology function and be comfortable contributing to wider business decisions and leading through other capable leaders.\nStrong technical credibility is important, but so is knowing when to step back. Experienced engineers should respect your judgement without needing you to make every technical decision.\nYou’ll know how to:\nLead, coach and develop experienced engineering leaders\nBuild strong teams and a healthy, accountable engineering culture\nRepresent technology confidently at executive level and challenge assumptions when needed\nWork closely with Product around roadmap, priorities and customer outcomes\nSet direction and make good decisions when the answer isn’t obvious\nBalance engineering quality, technical investment and commercial delivery\nCreate clarity and accountability without adding unnecessary layers or process\nCommunicate well with engineers, customers and non-technical stakeholders\nExperience leading engineering in a product-led technology or SaaS environment will be important. Experience involving field-deployed hardware, digital displays, computer vision, SOC 2 environments or similar technology would be particularly relevant.\nCommercial awareness also matters, particularly around technology investment, budgeting, planning and resource decisions.\nJust as importantly, we’re looking for someone people want to work with - a senior leader who brings judgement and professionalism without ego or unnecessary corporate layers.\nWhy Fingermark?\nThere aren’t many CTO opportunities in New Zealand that combine this breadth of technology, global customer exposure and level of influence.\nWorking directly with the CEO and executive team, you’ll help shape Fingermark’s technology direction across software, platforms, infrastructure, integrations, AI and field-deployed technology.\nWith capable engineering leaders already in place, there is an opportunity to help them, their teams and the wider engineering function continue to grow.\nThis is technology that has to work in the real world, supporting customers operating busy restaurant environments around the world.\nFor someone based in, or open to Hawke’s Bay, this is a rare opportunity to lead globally focused technology work from the region.
