The role will work closely with the Commercial, Finance, Logistics and Customer-facing teams to ensure that relevant commercial information is accurate, timely and useful for business decisions. The successful candidate will help the Commercial team understand business performance, identify opportunities and risks, monitor market developments, and support the achievement of commercial and financial objectives. \n\nKey Responsibilities \n\nSupport the preparation and analysis of commercial and business performance reports.\n\nAnalyse sales, margins, pricing, volumes, and customer performance to identify trends and opportunities.\n\nSupport the commercial team with pricing and profitability analysis.\n\nAssist in monitoring sales pipelines, customer opportunities and business performance.\n\nConduct market research and provide insights on market trends, competitors, customers and industry developments. \n\nSupport the preparation of customer account plans, business reviews and management presentations.\n\nAssist with forecasting, budgeting and commercial scenario analysis.\n\nWork with Finance and other teams to support working-capital and customer account analysis.\n\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date commercial information and ensure data consistency across relevant systems.\n\nDevelop and maintain dashboards and other analytical tools to support decision-making.\n\nHighlight commercial risks, performance gaps, and opportunities to the relevant teams.\n\nSupport the implementation and monitoring of commercial initiatives and strategic projects.\n\nCollaborate with Commercial, Finance, Logistics, and other internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate \n\nQualifications.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Commerce, Business, Engineering or a related field.\n\nStrong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into practical business insights.\n\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.\n\nKnowledge of Power BI, SQL, CRM systems or other data-analysis tools will be an added advantage.\n\nPrevious internship, project, or academic experience involving commercial analysis, finance, business analysis, pricing, or market research is an advantage.\n\nAn interest in commodities, international trade, tea or commercial business environments is desirable.\n\nOther Key Competencies:\n\nGood written and verbal communication skills in English.\n\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\n\nAbility to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines.\n\nA proactive, curious and commercially minded approach to problem-solving.\n\nWhat You’ll Gain\n\n1-Year Paid Internship Contract\n\nHands-on experience in world-class Tea Operations\n\nStructured mentorship and coaching from seasoned professionals\n\nExposure to international trading processes and operational excellence practices\n\nOpportunities to contribute to real-time problem-solving and process improvement\n\nHOW TO APPLY\n\nEmail your CV (max 2 pages) and a brief cover letter (max 1 page) explaining your interest and suitability for the role.\n\nYour application should reach us no later than 15th November 2026. \n\n Finlays is a subsidiary of the Swire Group, a diversified conglomerate headquartered in London.
