We provide technical support and engineering expertise to ensure that our flight simulators and other training devices remain safe, compliant and available for training operations.\nWe are now looking for a\n\nFLIGHT OPERATIONS ENGINEER, SIMULATOR\nto join our Simulator Engineering team and support the technical management and development of our simulator fleet and other training devices.\nYou will be responsible for the technical performance, reliability and continuous development of the training devices, including troubleshooting, hardware and software changes, maintenance development and technical projects. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, equipment manufacturers, software vendors, external specialists and aviation authorities.\nThe role covers simulator systems, avionics, software, networks and training device technology, with a focus on regulatory compliance and lifecycle management.\nIn this position you will report to Head of Flight Operations Engineering\nMain responsibilities:\nMonitor and develop simulator fleet technical performance and reliability, including KPI follow-up and improvement actions.\nCoordinate simulator hardware and software management, including modifications, updates, troubleshooting and version control.\nDevelop preventive maintenance programs, operating instructions and technical processes.\nCoordinate technical activities with simulator manufacturers, equipment suppliers, software vendors and other specialists.\nSupport regulatory compliance and quality management, including non-compliance reporting and corrective actions.\nParticipate in simulator renewal, upgrade, replacement and entry-into-service projects, including testing, qualification and follow-up of technical items.\nMaintain and develop simulator technical documentation and engineering processes.\nOur expectations:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Information Technology.\nGood understanding of avionics, aviation, simulation, software-based systems and networked environments.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to coordinate and prioritize technical activities in a complex operational environment.\nAbility to work effectively under pressure and manage technical information.\nGood teamwork and communication skills.\nGood written and spoken English and Finnish.\nWorking at Finnair:\nWe offer you an exciting opportunity to work in the fast-changing aviation and international travel industry in a culture that drives and enables professional development and continuous improvement.
