This is a hands-on, cross-functional role for someone who combines a strong foundation in finance or accounting with practical project management skills and a high degree of curiosity and initiative.\nYou will serve as a key liaison between leadership, internal teams, and client organizations-helping turn business needs into clearly defined projects, coordinating the right resources, and ensuring initiatives move forward effectively.\nThe ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, asking questions, gathering information, and engaging directly with stakeholders at all levels. You don't need to be a traditional project manager or hold a PMP certification, but you should have demonstrated experience managing projects and bringing people together to get things done.\nKey Responsibilities\nFinance & Accounting Project Management\nLead and coordinate cross-functional finance and accounting projects from initial requirements gathering through implementation.\nWork with client stakeholders and internal finance teams to understand business needs, identify requirements, and define project objectives.\nCoordinate resources across both client organizations and internal teams to keep projects moving forward.\nTranslate business requirements into clear project plans, action items, and deliverables, then coordinate handoffs to finance and accounting leadership for execution.\nTrack project progress, identify potential issues or roadblocks, and proactively follow up to keep initiatives on schedule.\nSupport projects such as accounting system and process changes, QuickBooks restructuring, sales tax technology implementations, reporting improvements, and other finance-related initiatives.\nLeadership & Stakeholder Support\nServe as a trusted extension of finance leadership, providing visibility into operational activities and projects across client organizations.\nAttend meetings and discussions on behalf of finance leadership when needed, including operational, pricing, and cross-functional meetings.\nBuild relationships with stakeholders across client organizations and internal teams to gather information and facilitate collaboration.\nCapture, organize, and synthesize information from meetings and conversations, providing leadership with concise summaries, key decisions, risks, and recommended follow-up actions.\nAct as a central point of coordination between leadership, clients, and internal finance/accounting resources.\nAnalysis & Process Improvement\nWork with financial and operational data to identify trends, issues, opportunities, and areas for improvement.\nUse Excel and business intelligence tools to organize and analyze information and support decision-making.\nLeverage emerging AI tools and technologies to improve research, analysis, documentation, and project execution.\nHelp identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, reporting, and operational efficiency.\nQualifications\nRequired\n5+ years of professional experience, preferably in finance, accounting, or a related business function.\nDemonstrated experience managing projects or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders or teams.\nStrong understanding of finance and/or accounting concepts and business processes.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a genuine interest in working with data.\nAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large or complex datasets.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both individual contributors and senior leadership.\nHighly organized with strong follow-through and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.\nSelf-directed and comfortable operating with limited day-to-day supervision.\nComfortable asking questions, seeking out information, and proactively engaging stakeholders to move projects forward.\nPreferred\nExperience with QuickBooks or other accounting/ERP systems.\nExperience with Power BI or other business intelligence and reporting tools.\nExperience working on finance, accounting, ERP, systems implementation, or process-improvement projects.\nFamiliarity with modern AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms.\nExperience working in a professional services, consulting, or multi-client environment.\nWhat We're Looking For\nThe successful candidate will be more than a traditional analyst or project coordinator.
