Headquartered in north Austin, Texas, Firefly is looking for passionate, hardworking innovators to join our team and help fuel our successful trajectory into space.\nSUMMARY\nComposite Technician II is an intermediate-level role responsible for independently fabricating aerospace-grade composite components for production and development programs.\nThis role supports the manufacture of primary structures, tanks, and secondary hardware from raw fiber through delivery to integration. Technicians at this level demonstrate strong technical skill and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Location: Briggs, TX (north of Cedar Park)\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nCut and kit composite materials to tight tolerances\n\nPerform bonding operations including surface prep and adhesive application\n\nExecute hand lamination of carbon, fiberglass, Kevlar, film adhesives, and core materials\n\nPerform full vacuum bag cure cycles including debulking and oven monitoring\n\nCure materials per manufacturer specifications\n\nIdentify scarf back plies (scarfing) as required\n\nInterpret composite layup drawings and manufacturing instructions\n\nEnsure material traceability in compliance with AS9100\n\nSupport process improvements and efficiency initiatives\n\nMaintain shop organization and PPE compliance\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\n2+ years of composite manufacturing experience\n\nExperience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing preferred\n\nDemonstrated ability to independently execute composite builds\n\nProficient use of pneumatic tools, hand tools, and precision measurement instruments\n\nAbility to read and interpret composite layup and assembly prints\n\nExperience working with material data sheets\n\nStrong craftsmanship and attention to detail\n\nFirefly offers outstanding benefits for our employees, including generous health, dental and vision plans with low plan deductibles, parental leave, relocation benefits, educational reimbursement, short term disability, and flexible PTO options.\nTo conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.\nFirefly Aerospace, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer;
