Backed by Sentinel Capital Partners, we’re driving innovation and growth across our portfolio.\nThe Opportunity\nWe are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented AP Supervisor to oversee the Accounts Payable functions at Det-Tronics, a leading flame and gas detection manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payables, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, and internal departments. This is a key role in supporting the company’s financial health and operational efficiency, while providing strategic insights to senior leadership.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAccounts Payable (AP):\nOversee the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments.\nManage the end-to-end accounts payable cycle, including invoice receipt, approval workflows, and payment processing.\nWork closely with the procurement and operations teams to verify and resolve any discrepancies in purchase orders and invoices.\nReconcile vendor statements and resolve outstanding issues with suppliers.\nEnsure compliance with company policies and internal controls regarding payment approvals.\nAssist in the preparation of monthly AP reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial statements.\nCross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting:\nWork closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.\nProvide detailed AP analysis to senior management to inform cash flow forecasting and financial planning.\nCollaborate with internal departments, including sales and operations, to streamline processes and resolve any operational issues.\nAssist with audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.\nImplement and maintain efficient AP processes and workflows, ensuring compliance with internal controls and best practices.\nTeam Leadership:\nSupervise and mentor a small team of AP clerks or associates, providing guidance and ensuring performance standards are met.\nFoster a collaborative and high-performance environment within the team.\nProvide training and support to team members as needed, ensuring development and growth opportunities.\nWhat You Bring:\nRequired Qualifications:\nFive or more years of progressive accounts payable or related accounting experience.\nAt least one year of experience providing team leadership, work direction, training, or supervision.\nExperience working with purchase orders, three-way matching, vendor reconciliation, and payment processing.\nWorking knowledge of general accounting principles and internal controls.\nExperience using an ERP or accounting system.\nIntermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, filtering, and data reconciliation.\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.\nDemonstrated attention to detail and problem-solving ability.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAssociate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.\nAccounts payable experience within a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or inventory-based organization.\nPrevious experience supervising or leading an Accounts Payable team.\nExperience with automated invoice workflows, electronic payments, and ERP-based purchasing systems.\nExperience supporting month-end close and financial audits.\nKey Competencies:\nFinancial Acumen: Ability to interpret financial data and use insights to drive decision-making.\nProcess Improvement: Focused on improving efficiency and accuracy within AP functions.\nAttention to Detail: Precision in managing financial data and resolving discrepancies.\nCustomer & Vendor Relationship Management: Building strong, professional relationships with suppliers.\nProblem Solving: Ability to address and resolve issues proactively.\nLeadership & Team Management: Ability to motivate, train, and lead a team towards success.\nWhy Join Us?\nWork with a globally respected brand in life safety \nInfluence strategic decisions at the executive level \nDrive innovation and transformation in a high-growth environment \nEnjoy development opportunities within a dynamic, private equity-backed company \nBenefits:\nAt Det-Tronics, we believe in taking care of our people.
