In this people-focused leadership role, you’ll build strong relationships with data center customers and the support field teams, and partner closely with Carrier’s Integrated Project Management Team. Your work will directly contribute to seamless startup, commissioning, and warranty support of industrial HVAC systems ensuring reliability, uptime, and customer confidence.\nThis role is perfect for someone who values teamwork, enjoys mentoring others, and takes pride in creating a supportive environment where technicians feel equipped to do their best work. You’ll have the opportunity to positively impact customer relationships, team culture, and Carrier’s reputation for excellence at our Ontario, Canada site.\nKey Responsibilities\nAct as the primary customer-facing representative, embodying and promoting the Carrier brand. \nLead the hiring process for the local Data Center technicians, ensuring the selection of qualified candidates. \nOversee onboarding of new technicians, including safety orientation, training procedures, and provisioning of devices and equipment. \nServe as the union liaison, facilitating communication and maintaining positive relations between Carrier and union representatives. \nConduct job site safety inspections and organize quarterly safety meetings to reinforce safety culture. \nInteract regularly with the master scheduler to ensure technician staffing needs are accurately met for local customer needs. \nManage requests for tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), vehicles, and uniforms for field teams. \nMaintain responsibility for fleet management, ensuring vehicles are properly assigned, maintained, and available. \nApprove daily timesheets and travel requests for Data Center technicians. \nOversee operations and support field teams. \nForecast, monitor, and document financial performance against plan \nCoordinate, prioritize and resolve issues encountered by the team. \nOptimize the usage of manpower, standard time, equipment and energy to complete open work \nEscalate critical/complex issues that will impact the business \nManage the team according to established programs and objectives \nImplement, monitor, manage the quality of work \nRespond to key customer complaints, carry out customer satisfaction investigations and ensure establishment of appropriate improvement plans \nRequired Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma/GED\n5+ years' experience in commercial HVAC and/or mechanical service operations, industrial equipment service, or other field service, environments involving maintenance, repair, and technical service delivery\n3+ years’ experience managing and or training field service teams, including union technicians, with a focus on performance and efficiency.\nValued, but not required\nHVAC Experience\nExperience in working with Unions\nExpertise in startup and commissioning of industrial HVAC systems, and understanding of data center reliability standards.\nStrong financial acumen: cost forecasting, margin attainment, and change order management.\nExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nCommitment to zero-incident safety culture and rigorous process execution.\nPay Range\nThe expected base salary range for this role is between $110,500.00 CAD - $160,500.00 CAD annually. The rate of pay may be impacted by factors such as the applicant's geographic location, market data/range, skills, prior relevant experience, job-related knowledge, specific degrees and certifications, and/or other relevant considerations.\n\nThis compensation includes components such as base salary, vacation pay, public holiday pay, potential estimated overtime pay and paid statutory leaves of absence. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, as well as possible retirement contributions. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the province in which the applicant is to be employed.Other Compensation\nThis role may also provide the opportunity to earn additional incentive compensation in the form of annual bonus, sales bonus, sales commission or local incentive.
