At Det-Tronics, our work has a clear purpose: advancing life safety technology to protect people, preserve assets and support reliable operations around the world\nThe Opportunity\nReporting to the Chief Financial Officer of Det-Tronics, the Global Controller will be responsible for leading the accounting activities for the business. The role requires a capable and highly determined individual with the desire to drive change and partner with key stakeholders of the business including our Parent, Spectrum Safety Solutions, CFO and Controller, as well as our Sales, Operations and Research and Development teams. You will have thorough knowledge of US GAAP, accounting policies and procedures and finance, maintain integrity in financial reporting and help the management team generate exceptional outcomes for company stakeholders through excellent financial management. This position will be based at our international headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.\nKey Responsibilities:\nEnsure compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations across all legal entities and operations.\nProvide comprehensive, accurate monthly financial updates to senior management and parent entity.\nEnsure an effective and efficient monthly financial close and manage a successful year-end audit.\nDevelop, implement and maintain accounting policies, financial controls and guidelines.\nKey tasks\nEstablish and drive strategic vision and priorities for the company's financial reporting function.\nDeliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reporting in compliance with US GAAP\nLead the monthly review of individual reporting units’ financial submissions\nAssist in the preparation, review and presentation of the monthly performance reports\nIdentify opportunities for and drive organizational initiatives to support process improvements\nCoordinate with head of Financial Planning with respect to fulfilling ongoing and ad hoc requests from Det-Tronics leadership, Spectrum Safety Solutions and their private equity sponsor for financial information\nOversee the development, implementation and maintenance of global accounting policies\nAssist with business development activities and related financial diligence and purchase accounting activities\nEnsure all statutory reports in local GAAP and local filings are completed accurately and filed on time\nKey traits\nHolds team members accountable for clearly communicated expectations and deliverables\nCooperatively work with team members to solve problems\nEffectively develops staff and promotes cultural of continuous improvement\nConsistently performs at a high level and with a sense of urgency\nEffective time management skills; stays on task to achieve goals and objectives\nEnsures a strong internal control environment; demonstrates and enforces full compliance to accounting rules and regulations in a candid, truthful and ethical manner\nWhat You Bring\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; CPA preferred\n10+ years of accounting and finance experience with global companies, including 5+ years accounting experience gained with a large US audit firm preferred\nStrong understanding of US GAAP, with an ability to direct annual audit procedures and address technical accounting matters\nWorking knowledge of US and international tax regulations and compliance reporting\nExperience with financial consolidation package; strong understanding of Microsoft Excel\nWhy Join Us?\nWork with a globally respected brand in life safety \nInfluence strategic decisions at the executive level \nDrive innovation and transformation in a high-growth environment \nEnjoy development opportunities within a dynamic, private equity-backed company \nTravel requirements\nThis position will require occasional travel to other company locations\nWe offer:\nA dynamic and internationally-oriented work environment in a company with a strong growth strategy\nCompetitive salary and benefits package\nBenefits:\nAt Det-Tronics, we believe in taking care of our people.
