We design, build, and operate a new class of digital infrastructure - the AI Factory. Through our model-to-grid technology approach, we have pushed the boundaries of multi-generational liquid cooling systems, energy management, AI software orchestration, and construction. For our customers, this approach allows us to make every watt count and deliver low-cost AI tokens globally.\nFirmus AI Cloud\nOur large-scale GPU cloud platform, Firmus AI Cloud, is purpose-built to deliver energy-efficient AI compute at scale to customers.\nIt empowers developers, enterprises, educational institutions, and government users to train and deploy AI models with unmatched efficiency and cost savings. With an ever-growing suite of services and applications, we are committed to delivering a cloud experience that is market-leading, proprietary, and built to scale.\nWhy Firmus?\nAs an NVIDIA Cloud and Engineering partner in Asia Pacific, you will gain skills, experience, and exposure across the AI industry and be part of shaping what this industry looks like for decades to come.\nWe are founder-led, not a big corporate. Decisions happen fast, our leaders are accessible, and there's minimum bureaucracy between you and the work. Ownership comes early. Whatever your role, you will have a direct line to outcomes, helping shape how the business grows as we scale nationally across a long-term, large-scale roadmap. \nWork alongside founders and experts in AI infrastructure, energy systems and next-generation compute.\nWhat we build here has impact beyond the business. Our AI Factories are designed to operate as assets to the energy grid to actively strengthen the communities and regions they operate in rather than drawing from them.\nConsidering applying? You don't need a perfect background to join our team. If you're driven and curious, there's a path for you. We back our people to grow into new domains and take on challenges beyond their previous experience.\nROLE SUMMARY\nThe Senior AI Engineer, Physics AI will build Firmus’s physics-AI capability, turning authoritative engineering inputs into qualified surrogate models and production software that accelerate AI Factory design, optimisation, simulation and operations. You will connect high-fidelity engineering analysis with fast, inspectable decision support across compute, cooling, power and infrastructure systems.\nThis is a hands-on engineering role at the intersection of scientific machine learning, numerical simulation and software delivery. Working with CFD, mechanical, electrical, controls, network, AI infrastructure and operations specialists, you will own the learned-model lifecycle and the services that make it useful. Engineering specialists retain authority over physical assumptions, solver evidence, design acceptance and protection systems.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nScientific machine learning and surrogate models\nDevelop and qualify surrogate models for bounded thermal, airflow, cooling and infrastructure scenarios. Start with a well-defined simulation-backed use case, selecting convolutional models, neural operators or graph-based approaches according to the data representation, fidelity and latency required. Extend to geometry-generalising approaches only when data coverage and validation justify them.\nEngineering data and evidence\nBuild reproducible pipelines from Ansys Fluent and other engineering tools into model-ready datasets. Preserve geometry, mesh, equipment, boundary-condition, units and solver-version lineage, and define canonical field and graph representations with the relevant engineering owners in Engineering and Technology. Design evaluation splits that prevent leakage across related cases and test unseen operating conditions and configurations. Treat approved solver studies and measured evidence as reference inputs, not as data to be stripped of engineering context.\nProduction services and integration\nDeliver tested, versioned software rather than isolated notebooks. Build training pipelines, model registry and qualification workflows, inference APIs and scenario-orchestration integrations. Own model packaging, qualification workflows, automated testing, monitoring and technical documentation in partnership with platform engineering. Deploy surrogate model endpoints through the AI & Applications inferencing platform and execute on shared GPU capacity managed by the AI & Applications scheduler. Connect model outputs to the engineering optimiser, evidence-linked design records and visualisation services, including Omniverse and OpenUSD where appropriate.\nQualification, uncertainty and safe use\nAgree acceptance criteria with engineering owners before a model is released. Evaluate field accuracy, critical local errors, physical consistency, inference latency and performance against simpler baselines. Implement applicability-domain checks, calibrated uncertainty where supported, out-of-distribution detection and clear rejection or solver-fallback behaviour. Make every result traceable to its inputs, model version, validation evidence and limitations. Keep operational evaluation in shadow mode unless separately approved; surrogate services must not bypass independent controls or protection systems.\nWhole-factory decision support\nIntegrate surrogates into scenario screening, design comparisons, commissioning rehearsal and operating-envelope studies. Work with engineering teams to assess delivered compute performance, whole-factory energy efficiency, auxiliary loads, cost and risk within explicit system boundaries. Introduce workload-intent and model-to-grid scenarios as the evidence base matures. Prioritise improvements that shorten engineering decision cycles without weakening assurance, and build reusable capability across factory configurations rather than one-off demonstrations.\nSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE\nYou bring deep, hands-on experience in scientific machine learning, computational engineering or simulation-led software, with a track record of taking models from research into dependable production services across multiple projects. You have technically led at least one cross-disciplinary programme spanning ML, simulation and software delivery. You are strong in Python and PyTorch, and can develop, train, profile, evaluate and deploy models on GPU infrastructure. Your experience includes surrogate modelling, neural operators, graph neural networks, reduced-order modelling, physics-informed learning or closely related methods.\nYou are comfortable working with simulation data, meshes, geometry, boundary conditions and numerical validation. You understand how discretisation, convergence, conservation, data coverage and measurement uncertainty affect a learned approximation. You can distinguish interpolation from unsupported extrapolation and explain when a surrogate should defer to an authoritative engineering calculation.\nYou have built maintainable software with APIs, containers, version control, automated tests, CI/CD and observability. You can design reproducible data and model contracts, diagnose failure modes and work constructively across engineering disciplines. A degree in engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, computational physics or a related discipline, or equivalent practical depth, provides a relevant foundation.\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE\nExperience with NVIDIA PhysicsNeMo or Modulus, PyTorch Geometric, graph or operator learning, uncertainty quantification and multi-GPU training is highly regarded. Familiarity with Ansys Fluent or PyFluent, OpenFOAM, ETAP or comparable engineering tools, together with CAD-to-simulation workflows, OpenUSD, Omniverse, Kubernetes or on-premises accelerated computing, would be valuable. Data-centre thermal systems, liquid cooling, electrical infrastructure or GPU/HPC experience is useful; practical scientific-ML and software-delivery evidence matters more than familiarity with every tool. Experience operating as a technical anchor across simulation, ML and software teams - setting standards, reviewing designs and mentoring engineers is expected at this level.\nLOCATION\nThis role can be based in Singapore or Syndey, reporting to the Head of AI and Applications. The role works closely with Engineering and Technology and Operations. \nEmployment Basis\nPermanent full-time\nDiversity\nAt Firmus, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds who are passionate about creating a more sustainable future through innovative engineering solutions.\nJoin us in our mission to revolutionise the AI industry through sustainable practices and cutting-edge engineering. Apply now to be part of shaping the future of sustainable AI infrastructure.","description_format":"text","description_chars":9119,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"Singapore","iso":"SG","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Data Centers & Colocation","Cloud Platforms (IaaS & PaaS)","AI Compute & Inference"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-22T01:57:44Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":3,"expected_fill_days":81,"reasons":["conf:0","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-25T05:49:26Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/firmus-technologies-senior-ai-engineer-physics-ai","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/firmus-technologies-senior-ai-engineer-physics-ai.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-25T13:46:18Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":19664,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-26T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":63306},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=63306"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Ffirmus-technologies-senior-ai-engineer-physics-ai"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Ffirmus-technologies-senior-ai-engineer-physics-ai"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Ffirmus-technologies-senior-ai-engineer-physics-ai"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/firmus-technologies-senior-ai-engineer-physics-ai\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Ffirmus-technologies-senior-ai-engineer-physics-ai"}]}
