Become a part of our history as it continues to be written!\nIf you are interested and qualified for this role, we invite you to apply.\nDatabase Administrators maintain and provide technical support for the database and reporting environment.Essential Functions/Responsibilities\nProvide technical leadership for enterprise database and reporting platforms, leading strategy, solution design, and alignment with business objectives.\nCollaborate with developers, IT teams, business partners, vendors, and consultants to support enterprise initiatives and evaluate new technologies.\nDesign, implement, and manage Microsoft SQL Server and Azure database environments, including installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning.\nDevelop and maintain database security, auditing, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery strategies and procedures.\nMonitor database operations, performance, ETL processes, and capacity; implement tools and processes to optimize reliability and efficiency.\nSupport Solution Architects in the design and implementation of enterprise reporting and data warehouse solutions, including data models, dimensional structures, and ETL processes.\nDevelop transaction processing and capacity models to support performance management initiatives.\nSupport migration of legacy database systems to enterprise standards and modern platforms.\nProvide Tier 3 technical support for database and reporting environments, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation.\nPerform SQL code reviews and support release management processes (e.g., Azure DevOps/TFS).\nExecute testing, debugging, and performance tuning procedures; collaborate cross-functionally to resolve system defects.\nLead and participate in Agile/Scrum activities, including stand-ups and sprint planning.\nServe as a subject matter expert for database technologies across application development initiatives.\nPartner with leadership to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines and business expectations.\nTrain, mentor, and develop DBA staff and other IT team members, including cross-training for backup support.\nDevelop, document, and enforce database policies, standards, and operational procedures.\nSupport enterprise change management processes and ensure compliance with established standards.\nIdentify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability.\nMaintain database access controls, activity logs, and audit documentation to support SOX compliance and internal/external audits.\nPartner with internal audit teams to provide evidence, implement database controls, and support remediation activities in accordance with SOX requirements.\nOther duties as assigned\nMinimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job\n10+ years IT experience\n7+ years of recent MS SQL Server DBA experience\nAdvanced SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) experience\nAdvanced SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) experience\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience..\nPreferred Knowledge and Skills\nExperience with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric.\nKnowledge of cloud database modernization initiatives, including architecture, performance optimization, security, and operational best practices in cloud environments.\nPrior experience supporting or leading migrations from on-premises database environments to cloud-based platforms.\nFamiliarity with hybrid database environments and transition strategies between traditional infrastructure and cloud-native solutions.\nExposure to data warehousing, ETL/ELT modernization, and cloud-based data integration tools.\nLevel of Complexity and Scope\nExpert, architect-level skills and responsibilities\nDegree of Independence and Decision-Making\nWorks with minimal supervision\nGuides and advises other team members as subject matter expert\nRequired Supervisory Responsibilities\nMay act as Team Lead\nPhysical Requirements\nOperates a computer most of the day.\nCompliance Statement\nThe associate is responsible for meeting all compliance requirements imposed on First Financial Bank by State and Federal law and regulation, as well as all related First Financial Bank policies and procedures.
