This hands-on role emphasizes backend architecture and cloud deployment for services supporting call treatment orchestration, brand data, analytics, and billing.\nYou’ll work in a cloud-agnostic, multi-tenant environment using hexagonal and event-driven architecture. You’ll collaborate with distributed engineering teams to deliver secure, observable, carrier-grade services that can run consistently across public clouds and on-premises environments.\nThis is an individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibilities.\nWhat you'll do:\nDesign, build, enhance, and own Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.x microservices \nDevelop REST APIs and services supporting call treatment orchestration, brand data, analytics, and billing\nApply hexagonal architecture to isolate business logic from infrastructure through ports and adapters\nBuild event-driven services using Apache Kafka for event streaming and asynchronous processing\nWork with PostgreSQL, Redis, and MinIO or other S3-compatible object storage\nDesign cloud-agnostic, multi-tenant services for deployment across public cloud and on-premises environments\nContainerize and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes\nImplement secure integrations using modern identity, access management, secrets management, and transport-security practices\nBuild observable services using modern monitoring, structured logging, dashboards, and distributed tracing tools\nContribute to CI/CD pipelines, technical design decisions, testing, troubleshooting, and production support\nCollaborate with distributed engineering teams to deliver reliable, maintainable, carrier-grade solutions\nMust-have:\n3+ years of professional Java development experience using Java 11 or later; Java 17 or 21 preferred\nHands-on experience with Spring Boot 3.x, including Web, Data JPA, and Security\nExperience designing and implementing REST APIs\nExperience with PostgreSQL and/or Redis\nExperience using Git; Bitbucket experience preferred\nFoundational experience with Docker and Kubernetes\nUnderstanding of microservice architecture and modern backend design principles\nExperience designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting production services\nStrong problem-solving and communication skills\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, distributed environment\nNice to have:\nExperience with Gradle using Kotlin DSL\nExperience with OIDC or comparable identity and access management standards\nTelecommunications or carrier-integration exposure\nExperience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms\nExperience with hexagonal, ports-and-adapters, or clean architecture\nExperience creating or maintaining Helm charts\nExperience with modern monitoring, dashboards, distributed tracing, or structured application logging\nKnowledge of cloud-agnostic design patterns and deployment across public cloud or on-premises environments\nExperience with S3-compatible object storage\nExperience using secrets-management tools\nFamiliarity with GDPR, data residency, or regional data-protection requirements\nExperience building high-throughput or low-latency systems\nWhile the position primarily follows local business hours in the employee's country of employment, occasional flexibility may be required to support planned maintenance activities, project implementations, and service escalations across time zones.\nThis position may be based in either the United Kingdom or Dubai, UAE.\nFor UK-based employees, the salary range for this position is £30,800 - £54,100, depending on experience\nCompensation for UAE-based employees will be discussed during the recruitment process and will depend on experience\nCompany Benefits\nOur work environment is energetic, focused, fun, and collaborative.
