At First Quality, you’ll find a collaborative environment focused on continuous learning, professional development, and our mission to Make Things Better®.\nWe are seeking a Maintenance Planner for our First Quality Home Care Products, LLC faciality located in Salt Lake City, UT. This position will be responsible for improving work force productivity and work quality by eliminating in advance potential delays and obstacles through proper planning and coordination of parts, machine time and labor.\nThe Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work performed in the area to which assigned. Acts as liaison and coordination between the operations and maintenance organizations; maintains appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results or work done.\nPrimary responsibilities include:\nPrincipal contact between the Maintenance department and the plant\nReceives all work orders from requesting departments, excepting emergency work\nReviews and screens each work order for completion. Discusses the details with the requestor as appropriate\nAssures the work requested is needed and resolves appropriately\nExamines jobs to be done and determines best way to accomplish the work. Consults with requester, Maintenance Supervisor, Engineering or functional crews when necessary\nObtains blueprints, drawings, instructional manuals and special procedures, as needed. Makes any additional sketches, diagrams, etc., necessary to clarify the intent of the work order.\nIdentifies and obtains determinable materials and critical items, entering material needs on the work order\nEnsures safety needs are given a top priority in work planning\nEstimates jobs with sequence of steps, the number of tradespersons and required labor hours for each step\nEstimates cost of each work order in terms of direct labor, materials required and total cost.\nMaintains backlog files of work orders waiting planning and/or scheduling in accordance with their priority limits with an estimated completion date\nVerifies the availability of parts, materials and special tools required for job execution prior to scheduling\nKnowledge of each department’s PM workload\nReviews the schedule and labor availability forecasts daily\nDevelops a maintenance work schedule for the maintenance area supervisor\nAttends meetings with the Operations Planning department and participates in the overall plant scheduling of the following week’s work, and negotiates for downtime “windows” during which maintenance can be performed\nFinalizes schedules, ensuring that the work scheduled balances labor hours available so that a full day’s work is provided each person. Establishes and maintains effective communications and partnerships with suppliers\nOther duties as requested\nThe ideal candidate should possess the following:\nMechanical/electrical background necessary and technical school background or Industrial Engineering degree desired\n10+ years of industrial maintenance experience required.\nFamiliarity with computerized maintenance management systems, such as MP2, SAP, or EAM preferred.\nAdequate trade knowledge to estimate labor hours, materials and visualize job execution\nGood oral/written communication skills\nGood administrative and mathematical skills\nWorking knowledge of computers in a reasonable training period\nGood planning, organizational and multi-tasking skills\nAbility to understand what constitutes good instructions\nAble to read blueprints and shop drawings\nSketching ability\nUnderstanding of the proper use of work orders, priorities, scheduling, etc.\nOrientation and commitment to customer service\nAbility to communicate/teach reliability best practices, condition monitoring, precision methods\nWhat We Offer You\nWe believe that by continuously improving the quality of our benefits, we can help to raise the quality of life for our team members and their families.
