equivalent professional experience may be considered.\nMinimum of three (3) years of experience in transportation sourcing, carrier procurement, logistics operations, transportation brokerage, or supply chain management.\nExperience negotiating transportation rates and carrier contracts preferred.\nExposure to multiple transportation modes, including truckload (TL), less-than-truckload (LTL), intermodal, and drayage required.\nExperience working within a manufacturing, distribution, or transportation environment preferred.\nExperience with transportation management systems (TMS), Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) preferred.\nRequired Skills/Competencies:\nTechnical:\nProven organizational skills - ability to prioritize.\n\nProven computer skills, including Microsoft Office or equivalent.\n\nIn depth knowledge of TMS concepts.\n\nKnowledge of transportation procurement and carrier contracting practices.\n\nUnderstanding of transportation market dynamics, capacity management, and freight pricing.\n\nKnowledge of truckload, LTL, intermodal, and drayage transportation networks.\n\nAccountabilities:\nAbility to analyze transportation spending and develop sourcing strategies.\n\nStrong negotiation skills with demonstrated success in securing favorable commercial agreements.\n\nSupplier relationships are maintained and improved.\n\nEssential Responsibilities:\nLead carrier negotiations, including transportation rates, accessorial charges, contract terms, and service level agreements.\n\nUtilize OTM and other input from internal stakeholders to determine what is needed to maintain contractual delivery obligations.\n\nResponsible for negotiating pricing and other commercial terms with all carriers.\n\nIndependently investigates new providers for improved price, delivery, and quality.\n\nIdentify and onboard new transportation providers to support business growth and mitigate capacity risks.\n\nConduct transportation sourcing events, including RFPs, RFQs, and spot bid activities.\n\nMonitor transportation market conditions and make recommendations regarding carrier strategy and network optimization.\n\nMaintains effective communications levels and fosters team building.\n\nAdheres to all First Solar internal processes and procedures.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nJob description subject to change at any time.\n\nReporting Relationships:\nThis position will not have direct reports.\nTravel:\n5% - 10%\n\nEstimated Salary Range:\nUS Physical Requirements:\nOffice Physical Requirements:\nAll positions in our office require interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
