Interns are expected to take ownership of their work and demonstrate accountability while working toward a cleaner energy future.\n\nExpected Length of Internship:\nSpring 2027- January to May\n\nAs an internship company, we allow flexibility to enroll in classes while working as an intern, if it doesn’t interfere with the essential functions of the position.\n\nEducation/Experience:\nMust be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program\n\nPursuing Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Tech, Materials Science and Engineering, Physics or related technical field\n\nFirst Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their university.\n\nRequired Skills/Competencies:\nGood knowledge of fundamental concepts of physics and chemistry\n\nUnderstanding of electric circuit terminology preferred\n\nExperience with laboratory instrumentation a plus\n\nExperience working with experimental data and statistical analysis preferred\n\nGood oral and written communication skills\n\nBasic Internship Scope (Project):\nIntern will work with project engineers to perform reliability testing on perovskite solar modules. May also include designing and executing experiments and new test method for developing solutions to improve device reliability.\nIntern will also be involved in metrology for perovskite solar cells and root cause analysis.\n\nPerform tests & monitor established procedures, compile data and analyze the results of said data, then communicate the results/conclusions to the above engineer.\n\nProvide weekly updates on the status of the assigned project to the above engineer.\n\nUpon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.\n\nEstimated Hourly Range:\n$22.00- $25.00/hr.\n\nUS Physical Requirements:\nManufacturing Physical Requirements\nWill sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day.\nWill climb stairs or steps on a frequent basis.\nWill lift up to 58 pounds on an occasional basis, according to work instruction.\nWill lift up to 37 pounds on a frequent basis.\nWill push or pull up to 50 pounds of force on an occasional basis.\nWill push or pull up to 37 pounds of force on a frequent basis.\nRequired to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.\n20/40 vision in both eyes (with or without correction) and the ability to distinguish between red, yellow, and green is required.\nMay reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.\nMay stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.\nMust comply with all safety standards and procedures.\nAbility to wear personal protective equipment is required (including, but not limited to: steel-toed shoes, cut-resistant gloves, jackets, aprons &/or arm guards, safety glasses or goggles, hearing protection & respirators) and a condition of employment and continued employment (may require little or no facial hair).\nOffice Physical Requirements:\nAll positions in our office require interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
