Work with request owners to determine task priority and any special quality check requirements, scheduling equipment, and assigning technicians and equipment to appropriate tasks. Perform weekly process/equipment quality verification checks maintaining results in SPC capable database and troubleshoot failures, escalating issues when required. Perform basic equipment maintenance and first level troubleshooting of area equipment working with tool owners, controls, and maintenance team members as required to bring equipment back online when compromised. Maintain area material inventory, stage appropriate materials for tasks, actively monitor and maintain area storage space, and perform startup and shutdown operation of equipment in support of tasks. Look for and implement opportunities to improve quality and task efficiency in areawhile providing regular lab updates on equipment/inventory and space status. Responsible for lab safety including user adherence to rules in lab while maintaining technician performance, training and performance evaluations.\nEducation & Experience:\nBachelor Degreein a technical discipline (Mechanical preferred) with minimum 4 yearswork experience in a manufacturing or lab environment, minimum 1 year supervision or leadership experience.\n\nOr Associates Degreein a technical discipline (Mechanical preferred) with minimum 7 years of work experience in a manufacturing or lab environment, minimum 3 years supervision or leadership experience.\n\nOr First Solar Supervisory experience for a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing or lab setting.\n\nRequired Skills :\nComputer skills. MS Word, Excel, and PPT (Intermediate level or above desired).\n\nProven ability to train and develop associates.\n\nProven ability to develop and implement operational systems to improve safety and throughput.\n\nProven basic data analysis skills.\n\nAverage to excellent ability to use tools and operating equipment is required including ability to troubleshoot issues and perform basic maintenance.\n\nMust possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively manage employees.\n\nMust have excellent verbal and written communication skills.\n\nKnowledge of environmental, healthand safety requirements.\n\nMust be motivated to work independently with little supervision.\n\nMust be able to demonstrate problem solving ability\n\nMust be able to multi-task.\n\nEssential Functions & Responsibilities\nResponsible to ensure a safe work environment.\n\nDevelop and implement operational systems that result in increasein safety and lab throughput.\n\nResponsible to ensure scheduled laboratory activities are completed on time, including required data collection and quality checks.\n\nResponsible to acquire test priority from multiple business groups and execute testing based on priority.\n\nResponsible to develop and maintain laboratory personnel including writing and updating work instructions and conducting on-the-job training (OJT) for laboratory associates.\n\nResponsible to ensure that all tests are done per the WIand lab associate training is up to date.\n\nResponsible to start up and shut down equipment per task specifics and requirements\n\nResponsible for staging task specific materials and components as required for task\n\nResponsible for maintaining area storage and inventories and working with users to reduce/disposition materials as required to maintain lab efficiency and safety standards.\n\nResponsible to perform equipment and process health baseline checks and troubleshoot or escalate to equipment/process owners as necessary after completing verification and basic troubleshooting.\n\nWilling to work long hours and weekends to support critical task priorities.\n\nResponsible to communicate immediately any abnormal findings on the product or testing equipment.\n\nResponsible to support Engineers on any improvement project either on the product or testing equipment.\n\nResponsible to ensure all testing equipment have up to date calibrations.\n\nResponsible to schedule equipment resources and laboratory personnel.\n\nAble to perform data analysis using JMP and applications built in-house.\n\nAble to prepare and update summary reports for equipment health and material inventories and any other requested lab quality metrics.\n\nResponsible to enforce procedures and apply disciplinary action as needed.\n\nResponsible to develop associates and perform quarterly performance reviews.\n\nResponsible to assist in any other task or job assigned by manager.\n\nResponsible to audit lab processes for compliance.\n\nSupport and react to daily lab operation issues.\n\nMaintain clean lab to 5S standards, housekeeping, and safety standards.\n\nMaintain and report lab operation metrics.\n\nResponsible for effective communication and team building.\n\nEstimated Salary Range: 81,250 USD per year- 115,700 per year\nPhysical Requirements:\nWill sit, stand or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day\n\nWill climb stairs on an occasional basis\n\nWill exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, push or pull on a seldom basis\n\nWill lift, push or pull up to 27 pounds on a frequent basis\n\nRequired to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects repetitively on a frequent basis\n\n20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required\n\nMust be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures\n\nMay reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis\n\nMay stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis\n\nAbility to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards)\n\nAll associates working on the production floor may be required to wear a respirator at any given time and thus, the ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair)\n\nPlease note:potential candidates will meet the education and experience requirements provided on the above job description and excel in completing the listed responsibilities for this role.
