Extension project based.\n\nAs an internship company, we allow flexibility to enroll in classes while working as an intern, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the essential functions of the position.\n\nEducation/Experience:\nEngineering/Natural Science/data Science\n\nHave used statistical software for analysis in the past\n\nKnowledge of sixsigma or structured problem solving is a plus\n\nFirst Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their university.\n\nRequired Skills/Competencies:\nProficient inExcel a must\nJMP or other statistical software a plus\n\nSQL or Python coding knowledge a plus\n\nDemonstrated abilities of rootcause identification and solution implementation using engineering or data analytics experience\n\nDemonstrated communication and written skills\n\nDemonstrated cross functional working skills\n\nBasic Internship Scope (Project):\nThe intern will support improving Yield for the site and continuous improvement projects on wattage for solar panel\nDo basic analysis on scrap data\n\nReport on daily status and support investigation\n\nLearn new software for handling scrap and JMP statistical software of analysis\n\nWork independently with various groups on assigned investigations in collecting, organizing and reporting on observations and rootcause analysis\n\nCreate PowerPoint presentations and present in technical forums\n\nCreate Standard operating procedure documents, deploy on factory floor and monitor for successful implementation\n\nLearn production floor logistics and support execution of experiments\n\nSupport sample preparation for lab work\n\nAble to work first or second shift on as needed basis\n\nUpon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.\n\nEstimated Salary Range:\n$22-$25/hr.\n\nHybrid Physical Requirements:\nWill sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift.\nWill climb stairs on an occasional basis.\nWill lift, push or pull up to 37 pounds on an occasional basis. \nRequired to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.\n20/40 vision in both eyes together, with or without correction, is required.\nMust be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.\nMay reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.\nMay stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.\nAbility to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards, and a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair) for those requiring respirator use.\nOffice Physical Requirements:\nAll positions in our office require interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
