At First Solar we strive to foster a culture that encourages innovation through collaboration, urging colleagues to take smart risks, learning from failures and course correcting, and owning personal accountability for contributing to our mission.\nExpected Length of Internship:\nPositions available for 2027 Spring semesters, in First Solar’s Perrysburg, OH Manufacturing and Technology Center (near Toledo).\n\nEducation/Experience:\nGraduate/Undergraduate students preferably in an analytical or technical field (Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, etc.)\n\nOverall G.P.A. greater than or equal to 3.00 (based upon 4.0 scale).\n\nFirst Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their university.\n\nRequired Skills/Competencies:\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written communication\n\nFlexible, adaptable, and eager to learn emerging AI technologies and business applications\n\nProficiency in financial modeling, data analytics, and AI-enabled business insights\n\nAbility to conduct market research, analyze large datasets, and identify key trends, policy impacts, and opportunities\n\nStrong business acumen and ability to engage effectively with stakeholders\n\nDemonstrates an analytical and solution-oriented approach to problem solving\n\nHighly proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Copilot\n\nProficiency in Python, data visualization, dashboard development, and workflow automation\n\nExperience building AI assistants, chatbots, or knowledge management solutions to improve business insights and decision-making\n\nLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required\n\nAbility to travel within the U.S. & Canada\n\nBasic Internship Scope (Project):\nDevelop an understanding of First Solar's business model, technology landscape, and AI-enabled analytics environment.\n\nParticipate in the internship program and role-specific training and development.\n\nSupport and manage engagements with 3rd-party consultants, data providers, and intelligence platforms.\n\nWork collaboratively with multiple departments across First Solar.\n\nParticipate in, or lead, meetings with First Solar staff and stakeholders.\n\nWork with experienced professionals in the performance of responsibilities; check in regularly with assigned mentor.\n\nLead a minimum of one AI enabled business intelligence, market strategy, or project-finance focused project with end-of-term reporting; potential projects could include:\n\nBuild and deploy dashboards, AI assistants, or automated intelligence tools that put key data and insights at stakeholders' fingertips\n\nBuild, run, and interpret financial models, scenario analyses, and market sensitivities using AI-enhanced workflows\n\nDevelop and maintain knowledge bases, market intelligence repositories, or AI copilots that deliver accurate, actionable insights while minimizing hallucinations\n\nLeverage third-party intelligence, market data, and AI tools to provide best in- class intel and policy impacts on First Solar’s business.\n\nUpon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and business impact to the leadership team.\n\nEstimated Salary Range:\n$22.00 - $25.00/hr\n\nUS Physical Requirements:\nWill sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift.\nWill climb stairs on an occasional basis.\nWill lift, push or pull up to 37 pounds on an occasional basis. \nRequired to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.\n20/40 vision in both eyes together, with or without correction, is required.\nMust be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.\nMay reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.\nMay stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.\nAbility to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards, and a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair) for those requiring respirator use.\n\nAll positions in our office require interaction with people and technology while either standing or sitting.
