Our Trainers play a critical role in preparing new drivers for the road, supporting current employees, and ensuring our teams meet company, state, and federal safety requirements.\nThis is a hands-on position for someone who can confidently lead classroom instruction, provide behind-the-wheel training, and build strong working relationships with employees at all levels.\nWhy Join First Student?\nWe are proud to offer:\n$30.00/hr\nTremendous career advancement opportunities due to our strong presence across North America\n\nA positive and rewarding work environment\n\nThe opportunity to directly influence driver readiness and passenger safety\n\nA role that combines training, safety, compliance, and employee development\n\nYour Responsibilities\nAs a Trainer, you will:\nProvide classroom and behind-the-wheel training to new drivers\n\nConduct refresher and remedial training for current drivers\n\nDeliver additional safety and compliance training to location employees\n\nTrack attendance and maintain accurate training documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements\n\nAssist with accident investigations, safety meetings, compliance forms, and other location safety programs\n\nTravel within the service area to provide training at multiple locations\n\nPerform other duties as assigned\n\nWhat We Are Looking For\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\n\n1-3 years of training experience\n\n1-3 years of transportation, safety, or related experience\n\nKnowledge of federal and state safety and environmental regulations\n\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint\n\nStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills\n\nAbility to communicate effectively with drivers, employees, customers, management, client representatives, union officials, and members of the public\n\nAbility to prioritize responsibilities and manage time effectively\n\nFluent English communication skills\n\nConsistent attendance and punctuality\n\nA reliable personal vehicle and the ability to travel throughout the service area as needed\n\nAbility to operate a company or personal vehicle when delivering training at multiple locations\n\nPhysical Requirements\nThe Trainer must be able to:\nMove throughout the office, bus parking areas, and surrounding company facilities\n\nOperate standard office equipment\n\nAccess filing systems and storage cabinets\n\nCommunicate effectively in person and by telephone\n\nDrive to multiple locations within the service area\n\nThis position is subject to DOT drug testing and physical requirements.
