Design and review scalable distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures that power our commerce platform.\nDrive key technology decisions across backend services, infrastructure, integrations, and platform capabilities. Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, DevOps, and Business teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.\nLead architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical governance across engineering teams.\nEstablish engineering best practices around code quality, system design, observability, security, and performance.\nMentor senior engineers and technical leads while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.\nEnsure high availability, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and security across all systems. Continuously improve platform performance, scalability, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and operational efficiency.\nEvaluate emerging technologies and drive their adoption where they create meaningful business value. Troubleshoot complex production challenges and lead long-term architectural improvements.\n\nRequirements: \n10-15 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3-5 years in a technical architect, principal engineer, or staff engineer role.\nStrong expertise in designing large-scale, high-availability distributed systems and microservices architectures. Hands-on experience with backend technologies such as Java, Node.js, Go, or Python.\nDeep understanding of system design, APIs, databases (SQL & NoSQL), caching, messaging systems, and event-driven architectures. Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.\nExperience designing secure, resilient, and highly performant applications at scale. Strong knowledge of architectural patterns, design principles, scalability, reliability, and observability.\nAbility to balance long-term architectural vision with short-term business priorities in a fast-paced startup environment. Excellent stakeholder management, technical leadership, and communication skills.\nExperience mentoring engineering teams and driving technical excellence across organizations.
