This will be determined based upon the results of the interview process which considers the candidate's skills, work history, experience level, and other relevant qualifications.\nThe Distribution Portfolio and Utility Coordination (DPUC) Team manages Distribution investments and shared-use activities to ensure safe, compliant, and financially optimized outcomes while protecting FirstEnergy's assets, supporting reliable service, and fulfilling regulatory and stakeholder commitments.\nThe DPUC department’s responsibilities are as follows:\nIdentify, evaluate, and sequence capital projects that align with FirstEnergy's strategic, regulatory, and operational objectives\n\nOversee the current-year portfolio to ensure projects are delivered on time, on scope, and on budget while balancing tradeoffs and ensuring compliance with governance processes and emergent needs\n\nMaintain an accurate view of capital expenditures by continuously updating project forecasts, monitoring variances, and integrating changes into the current and out-year plans\n\nReceive, evaluate, and process Joint Use attachment projects from beginning to end to meet FirstEnergy regulatory objectives, while maximizing cost recovery and measuring financial impacts\n\nCoordinate with Legal, Supply Chain, and State Engineering to prepare agreement packages and maintain a tracking database for reimbursable DOT relocation projects\n\nDevelop and maintain reports and metrics for late tickets, on-time performance, and ticket volume to mitigate dig-in damages and violation claims from state PUCs\n\nThis role supports the forecasting and management of key portfolio and utility coordination components, including budgets, resources, materials, project schedules, regulatory timelines and work plans.\nThis position provides analytical and reporting support to the Distribution Portfolio and Utility Coordination team, helping ensure accurate insights into project performance, financials, benefits and risks.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nReporting & Data Management\n\nDevelop and maintain accurate financial and operational reports using tools such as Power BI, QlikView, TOAD Data Point, and Microsoft Office.\n\nAnalyze data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.\n\nEnsure data integrity through regular validation and updates.\n\nStakeholder Collaboration\n\nPartner with internal and external stakeholders to align priorities and ensure consistent processes.\n\nServe as a liaison to facilitate clear communication across teams.\n\nExecutive Reporting\n\nSupport development of concise, executive-level presentations.\n\nTranslate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights.\n\nSystems & Tools\n\nUtilize systems such as SAP, CREWS, SPANS and OPPM to generate reports.\n\nIdentify and implement process improvements and reporting automation.\n\nAnalytical Support\n\nProvide insights to support project planning, estimating, forecasting, and decision-making.\n\nAssist in monitoring project scope, estimates, budget, and schedule performance.\n\nExecute ad hoc reports for Utility Coordination\nAssist in executing, compiling and analyzing incoming and outgoing invoicing\nStorm Support\nRespond to and assist during storm restoration events, including off hours, weekends and holidays. \nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBusiness Analyst\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; or equivalent experience\n\n4+ years relevant experience (7+ without degree)\n\nExperience with data analysis, forecasting, and process improvement\n\nStrong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills\n\nAdvanced analytical and problem-solving abilities\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP, Oracle, or QlikView preferred\n\nAbility to deliver accurate work within deadlines\n\nAdvanced Business Analyst\nBachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree or certification a plus\n\n7+ years relevant experience (10+ without degree)\n\nDemonstrated experience in analysis, forecasting, and process improvements\n\nGreater independence and leadership in responsibilities\n\nSenior Business Analyst\nBachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree or certification a plus\n\n10+ years relevant experience (13+ without degree)\n\nProven expertise in complex analysis, portfolio oversight, and process optimization\n\nHigh level of independence, leadership, and strategic contribution\n\nAdditional Expectations (Advanced & Senior Levels)\nPerform responsibilities with increased autonomy and expertise\n\nLead initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts\n\nProvide advanced analytical insights and mentorship where applicable\n\nBenefits, Compensation & Workforce Diversity\nAt FirstEnergy, employees are key to our success.
