This role is intended to provide foundational support for emerging analytics tools and pilot programs, helping to stabilize and operationalize these capabilities as they scale. This position is critical to enabling successful deployment and long-term sustainability of our analytics initiatives.\nThis position can be located at any of the FE major hubs\nResponsibilities include:\nQuerying data from iTOA, Oracle NMS, GIS and other data sources, interpreting the data and analyzing results using advanced statistical techniques.\nCollaborate with Engineering, Operations, IT, Customer Service and Regulatory teams to translate business needs into functional requirements and support cross-functional initiatives\nDevelop tools using platforms such as Data Bricks, Toad Database, RapidMiner, Python, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps or other similar tools.\nSupport data governance structure and adherence by leading technical validation and testing.\nDevelop tools and processes that provide visibility to key stakeholders and support improvement in FE distribution reliability.\nConducting business specific research and ad hoc data analysis - obtaining data, interpreting results, and communicating findings to provide insights that reduce reliability risk, optimize investments, and improve distribution reliability.\nBuild and maintain data models to enable and improve data-driven decision-making.\nHelp drive the use of data warehouses for insights and predictive analytics.\nDelivering quality and accurate work within established deadlines. \nProviding storm support, as needed, including off-hours, weekends, and holidays.\nTravel may be required at times across the FirstEnergy system.\nSupport the Dx Analytics Platform through data validation, testing, analysis, and evaluation of analytical outputs against defined business requirements and desired outcomes.\n\nQualifications include:\nBachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field with 2 years of relevant work experience preferred.\nDemonstrated proficiency in processing, manipulating, and generating insight from large data sets of structured and unstructured data.\nExperience in the implementation of complex programs and projects.\nKnowledge of statistical methods, predictive modeling techniques, and data mining algorithms is highly valuable.\nKnowledge of fire weather indices such as Haines Index, ERC, and Fosberg Index is highly valuable.\nExperience with wildfire modeling and forecasting tools, including NFDRS and WIMS is highly valuable.\nProficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.\nKnowledge of FE systems: iTOA, Oracle NMS, GIS, Cascade, EMS, SAP, and PI are preferred.\nKnowledge of statistical methods, predictive modeling techniques, and data mining algorithms is highly valuable.\nAbility to develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels of FirstEnergy to aid and resolve problems.\nExcellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong analytical ability are required.
