Headquartered in Akron, Ohio, FirstEnergy includes one of the nation's largest investor-owned electric systems, more than 24,000 miles of transmission lines that connect the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions, and a regulated generating fleet with a total capacity of more than 3,500 megawatts.\nAbout the Opportunity\nThis is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.\nThis is a full-time, on-site position located in Harrisburg, PA.\nThis position is within the State Finance and Regulatory Affairs organization and reports to the Vice President, PA State Finance and Regulatory Affairs.\nKey responsibilities include:\nDevelop, manage, and maintain positive business relationships with the Public Utility Commission.\nService as a key liaison for FirstEnergy to the Public Utility Commission.\nCommunicate with external stakeholders on a wide range of issues.\nMonitor, analyze, and report on all regulatory matters at the Public Utility Commission and assist in making recommendations to management to support decision making.\nAssist in developing and executing regulatory strategies that advance the goals of the company.\nCoordinate regulatory activities with applicable FirstEnergy business units such as External Affairs, Legal, Rates, Operations, and Finance to ensure proper alignment with business objectives.\nCoordinates cross-functional teams that address escalated complaints to the Public Utility Commission to ensure proper resolution.\nAbility to understand the company’s objectives, their financial implications and be able to communicate them to stakeholders.\nUnderstand and stay current on all applicable laws, pending legislation, administrative rules and policies that impact FirstEnergy.\nAct with a high degree of integrity, honesty, and credibility when representing the company.\nCommunicate ideas related to regulatory, legislative, and policy opportunities to advance the company’s business objectives.\nRepresent FirstEnergy at industry meetings, conferences, and events.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in business, technical, or related discipline required. Advanced degree preferred.\nMinimum 10 years’ relevant experience required.
