We are dedicated to providing cutting-edge solutions to our customers while fostering a dynamic and inclusive workplace culture.\nSummary:\nThis position will require technical skills to support the installation of Residential and Business customers on Oxford Networks d/b/a FirstLight Fiber’s Copper and FTTP networks. This work includes copper and fiber Optic installation and repair, network installation, repair and maintenance, customer premise wiring, customer voice services and testing high speed data circuits. This position requires a self-motivated person with a positive, customer focused attitude that excels in a fast-paced environment.\nResponsibilities:\nSome expected duties include, but are not limited to:\nCopper & Fiber Optic Installations for Residential and Businesses\nInstallation and splicing of aerial and underground copper & fiber drops.\nRepair & Maintenance on Copper & Fiber Optic Networks.\nInstallation and repair of copper cables, fiber optic cables, aerial closures, snaps, buried kits, pedestals, smart coils, subscriber line cards, repeaters, and noise coils.\nResponds to after-hour calls (24/7/365) regarding downed lines, broken poles, outages etc.\nOperates a Bucket Truck for aerial operations, removing trees from lines and equipment.\nWorks with Contractors during major outages. \nTesting & troubleshooting copper cables with a Dynatel 965AMS, HST, Fluke, Meggar and Sidekick.\nTesting and troubleshooting of fiber optic cables with an OTDR and light meters\nInstallation and testing of ADSL and SADSL.\nProgramming customer premise equipment such as Routers\nCentral Office Wiring.\nMay require locating underground cable for dig safes.\nTeam orientated ethics with a positive attitude.\nMaintain accurate records and report them to Dispatch.\nAll other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.\nQUALIFICATIONS/COMPENTENCIES\nMust possess excellent communication skills.\nMust possess a positive, winning attitude.\nOutside Plant Telephone Experience\nCopper installation experience\nFTTP installation experience\nAerial & Buried plant installation experience\nCustomer premise wiring experience\nCopper testing experience\nOTDR experience\nMust be able to operate a Bucket Truck and able to work at high heights.\nMust be able to operator tools such as a chain saw.\nMust be able to lift 100-150 pounds.\nMust be able to climb ladders.\nMust be able to withstand all types of weather conditions.\nMust be able to work in confined spaces.\nMust be able to rotate through a weekly on-call list.\nMust possess a clean Maine Driver’s License.\nMust pass drug testing and criminal and driving record background checks.\nEDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS\nHigh School diploma or equivalent.\nField Service Technician experience a plus.\nComputer knowledge.\nREQUIREMENTS\nMust have valid and unencumbered driving license.\nMust pass pre-employment drug testing.\nMust be honest and ethical in all dealings.\nMust present professional appearance and demeanor.\nLIGHT DUTY ASSIGNMENTS:\nThere is no light duty assignment available for this position.\n\nSHIFT SCHEDULE:\nThis is an hourly position. This role is part of an On-Call Rotation (will require some after hours and weekend work).
