policy; and compliance and governance requirements in area of accountability.\nEnsure the development, alignment, mapping and implementation of end-to-end processes aligned to the customer journey map.\nResearch, enable and consult on improvements and opportunities to harness technology and platform enablement.\nReview existing processes and suggest innovative ideas to improve and streamline processes to drive efficiencies and minimise redundancy.\nMonitor customer feedback reports and align processes to maximise efficiencies.\nProvide overall compliance advice to management and leadership teams to ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.\nApply compliance principles, commit to the compliance practices, design and implement various compliance plans and strategies, conduct compliance monitoring, and interact with various industry role-players.\nImplement standards, policies and procedures governing business compliance.\nAssist in the development of the contextually relevant implementation plan of the Group’s Compliance Framework and Procedures as well as the monitoring mechanisms.\nStay up to date with the legislative changes and best practices affecting the Group and its underlying operations and communicate these back to the Group in a simplistic way.\nProvide assurance to the Compliance Management team and the Audit and Risk committee that there is compliant with its regulatory and legislative obligations.\nPrepare written reports of the status in complying with relevant regulations, laws, policies and contractual obligations.\nRecommend mitigation of risks and implementing remedial action.\nManage organisational risks in compliance with the strategic risk register and operational risk register.\nAssist in establishing a compliance culture throughout the organisation, through training and awareness initiatives.\nProvide training and awareness to staff regarding compliance requirements making this an entrenched and not a complicated part of on-going business practices.\nEnsure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements in area of accountability.\nEnsure implementation of relevant policies, governance and practice standards across the business.\nMaintain knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices and internal compliance procedures and requirements.\nEnsure compliance is adopted in terms of systems and procedures as laid out by organisation and review in response to audit findings and changes.\nDevelops an understanding of risks and risk management approaches.\nImplement and provide input into the development of governance and compliance procedures and processes within area of specialisation and identify risks.\nEducates others and makes suggestions for improvements.\nNetworks and participates in specialist risk forums where required.\nProvide input into the development of the business area tactical strategy in achievement of the overall business strategy.\nDevelop and implement an area operational plan in achievement of Business objectives\nContribute to teamwork and inclusivity within own team\nIdentify and utilise opportunities to assess and improve own performance\nExperience and Knowledge Requirements\nThe successful candidate should have experience and knowledge in the following areas:\nRegulatory compliance monitoring and reporting.\nRegulatory engagement and stakeholder management.\nFinancial sector legislation, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practice.\nConducting compliance risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.\nPolicy development, review, and implementation.\nSupporting licensing applications and regulatory approval processes.\nAssisting with regulatory inspections, reviews, and ongoing regulator engagement.\nExperience operating within the financial services environment, preferably across multiple regulatory jurisdictions.\nAdditional Requirements\nAbility to operate effectively within a lean specialist Legal and Compliance function supporting multiple business areas and regulatory stakeholders.\nComfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, balancing competing priorities and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.\nDemonstrated ability to support both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operational requirements.\nExperience working across multiple jurisdictions, particularly South Africa and Namibia, will be advantageous.\nStrong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.\nJob Details\nTake note that applications will not be accepted on the below date and onwards, kindly submit applications ahead of the closing date indicated below.\n17/10/26All appointments will be made in line with FirstRand Group’s Employment Equity plan.
