Now’s the time to imagine your potential in a team where experts come together and ignite effective change.\nAre you someone who has experience in:\nResponsible for the 24/7 support of postgres production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by the business systems\nYou will be responsible for:\nResponsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of PostgreSQL databases supporting business-critical applications.\nInstall, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain PostgreSQL database servers across development, test, and production environments.\nDesign, implement, and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions using PostgreSQL replication technologies (streaming replication, Patroni, repmgr, etc.).\nProactively monitor PostgreSQL instances, identify performance bottlenecks, and minimize downtime through preventive maintenance and health checks.\nPerform database performance tuning by optimizing SQL queries, indexes, execution plans, and PostgreSQL configuration parameters.\nPlan, implement, and validate backup and recovery strategies using tools such as pgBackRest, pg_basebackup, WAL archiving, and Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR).\nManage database storage, tablespaces, and capacity planning to ensure optimal utilization and future scalability.\nCreate and maintain database objects, including schemas, tables, indexes, views, sequences, functions, and materialized views.\nImplement database changes, schema migrations, and release deployments in coordination with development and application teams.\nConfigure and maintain PostgreSQL security by managing users, roles, privileges, authentication methods, SSL certificates, and auditing.\nMonitor database growth, resource utilization, replication health, and system performance, providing trend analysis and capacity planning reports.\nPerform routine database maintenance activities such as VACUUM, ANALYZE, REINDEX, statistics management, and partition maintenance.\nTroubleshoot and resolve PostgreSQL database issues related to performance, replication, connectivity, locking, deadlocks, and data integrity.\nConfigure and maintain logical and physical replication, replication slots, WAL management, and failover mechanisms.\nSupport database migration and upgrade activities, including major PostgreSQL version upgrades and data migration projects.\nDevelop and execute SQL scripts, stored procedures, and ad-hoc queries to support reporting, troubleshooting, and operational requirements.\nCollaborate with infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams to ensure database availability, security, and operational excellence.\nAutomate routine PostgreSQL administration tasks using shell scripting, SQL, and scheduling tools such as pg_cron.\nEnsure compliance with organizational security policies, backup standards, and database governance best practices.\nWhat you will need:\nMust have between 4 and 6 years relevant experience\nExperience administering Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL databases on AWS is an added advantage.\nMust be able to perform duties listed above\nPostgres technical skillsGeneral database maintenance\nDatabase performance & storage optimisation\nDatabase security\n\nGood knowledge of PSQL.\nGood knowledge of Linux\nHands-on experience in configuring, administering, and troubleshooting PostgreSQL ecosystem tools, including Pgpool-II, Patroni, pgBackRest, and PgBouncer, to support high availability, connection pooling, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.\nWe can be a match if you can:\nVery good interpersonal skills\nExcellent communication skills\nCommitted, reliable, self starter, able to work independently\nProblem determination/solving skills\nAre you interested to take the step?
